I'm not sure if this is a new thread, or a subtopic of the "A Question About Climax" thread, but...

I've been on Tamulosin and Finasteride for the urinary difficulties of BPH for 7 months and suffer from the side effect of retrograde ejaculation and it's attendant reduction in cum. My question is does anyone else experience a huge reduction in the pleasure of climax as well? For me, no semen produced out the end of my cock equals nearly none of the release, the sensation, the joy associated with cumming, and yet my balls tell me I did ejaculate. There is also increasingly sharp, momentary pain in my groin, balls and thighs. Any one else? If this is just a really limited thread, perhaps any respondents would prefer to PM me. Thank you.

I've posted about this before, I get the same sensation I did before except without the cream. I have no problem with it myself, however it seems to be a problem with partners.

they like to see "proof" that I came. Guess I dont have a trusting face ?

I'm on Tamsulosin and it always feels like I am ejaculating, even if I'm not. Really, no difference in intensity, but even more surprise and pleasure on those rare occasions when I am able to cum.

Is this enchanted elixir available to mere mortals? http://s4312.storage.proboards.com/6154312/i/KT_DXYWskYLmY5m8T30X.gif

3 years with Tamsulosin, before that I have always been a BIG shooter, but since few months I started to see reduced cum production and jizz. It is not a nice feeling as I have always been "proud" and enjoyed watching my spurs coming out.

Sensation of pleasure is the same though. I fear the day of retrograde ejaculation....:(

I don't suffer from BPH, at least not yet, but given the statistics it is probably in my future. However, I do get less "cream". In fact much less. There was a time when I guess that I could shoot across the room and hit the wall. Now I just get a dribble. It makes me feel that I am sending a signal to whom I am with that he did something wrong. I always apologize saying that it has nothing to and with him and that it's a problem with my equipment. One favorite guy once responded by saying, "What do you mean! You just shot over your head and it landed on the rug across the room!" That made me feel good about the whole situation. What was funny was that while I knew that was definitely not the case I later looked for it!!!! (Just in case I needed to do a bit of clean up that is as we were at my place!)

In any event , while in the past it really did not matter to me if the other guy came, now it has become more important to me. It gives me pleasure seeing someone shoot a big load as it somehow seems to balance out the equation.

Unfortunately I went through a very long phase where the plaesure was considerably less as well. Very recently things seem to have been improving slightly in that regard. I hope that continues to be the case.

Damn! The things that I share here sometimes amaze me!

Ask your doc if you can cut those meds out and try 5Mg daily dose of Cialis. It worked for me until I was hospitalized for 10 days and they put me back on Flomax and wouldn't give the Cialis. I'm back to reducing the flomax and taking the cialis again but I too had reduced sensation with flomax.

If you have to be on a 5AR inhibitor, you might ask the uro for dutasteride rather than finasteride. Sexual side effects from finasteride are fairly common. They are less common from dutasteride.

Thanks everybody. I'm seeing the urologist soon and hoping to get off of some of the meds. Better to get up at night often to pee than to never again feel the full joy of CUMMING! @whipped guy, I also am amazed at the things you share here, but you, and all the others, are so appreciated!.

I mentioned in the other thread that the alpha blocker I was taking completely shut off my ability to ejaculate, but that my orgasms were more intense than ever, and I was able to have multiple orgasms in quick succession (which is actually quite rare in men). Reading through the above comments and having reviewed the labeling, I suspect that my side effects were idiosyncratic in some ways.

I am finally finished with that medication, and I'm mostly glad for it. Overall the sex/masturbation just didn't feel right while I was on it, even though the multiple orgasm thing was a fun novelty for a short while. Also, I'm most definitely not going to miss hearing my heart thumping and blood vessels pounding, which was something I experienced every time I worked out at the gym while I was on that drug.

See if you can get off of the 5 AR inhibitor. They really screw with your hormones. 5 alpha reductase (5AR) is the enzyme that converts testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is a strong androgen that plays an important role in libido.

Thanks so much for the specific suggestions to take up with my urologist. Is there a "down side" to getting off the 5 AR inhibitor other than urinary issues?

I don't know of any. I'm not a health care professional, though.
