Poppers????

Can someone tell me what poppers are, I know they are something that you snif I have actually done poppers before with absolutely no effect! I was told that if I did them it would make it easier for me to bottom, it didn't not that it was bad by any means (sorry I digress). but it didn't make it any different.

 

I hate going into clubs and the bathrooms or being with someone who uses them I am very sensitive to smells and I hate the smell probably why I never smoked cigarettes. I love the smell of Pot so that never bothered me. Just wondering chemically what they are and how they are supposed to work.

Isoamyl nitrite or similar compounds (e.g. isobutyl nitrite).

Not "nitrate" as commonly written.

 

It relaxes smooth muscle tissue in the circulatory system,

thereby dilating blood vessels. Reduces blood pressure,

which can give a head rush. Helps in relaxing the anal

sphincter.

 

Some formulations sold over the counter are garbage,

which may be part of why you didn't get any benefit.

Also be aware that if you take them your heart will start pounding and you'll become flush and hot (temperature wise). Do not take poppers if you use any kind of heart medication and especially not if you or your partner have taken Viagra. It's a very dangerous combo.

I have known many people who find poppers give them serious headaches, possibly because of the change in blood flow to the brain. The first time I used them, when I was young and naive, my heart pounded so much I was certain I was going to die, so the fear offset any sexual arousal. When I got up the nerve to do it again, already knowing what to expect, they worked as advertised, and I got hooked. If they didn't work for you the first time, I would try them again (a different brand), before completely giving up on them; do it when you are relaxed and with someone familiar, not with an expensive new escort.
