I submitted an escort review on RM on Saturday after which a note popped up saying that it wouldn't be posted until they verified it a few days later. Meanwhile I've heard nothing and it's not there.

It was a positive review.

How do they verify with me? Through e-mail I would suppose, but I haven't gotten anything. Do you have to be a Premium Member to submit a review? It doesn't say so.

Does anyone knows how this works?

@pierrot

I am a free member and I've reviewed about 5 guys....my first review took about 3 days for the first one and then the rest either the same day or next day

And they email your rentmen email and a notification to your personal email provided when you sign up

Pierrot - I think you've got two concurrent threads on this.

See my answer to your question in the other.

Yes, I posted it under "Ask an Escort" and one of them advised me that I would get more response here.

RM review approval and posting process is quick and efficient. Reviews on RM are approved and posted within 2 days. There is no 30-day waiting period for approving and posting reviews. The process is simple, and the people in charge of verifying the reviews submitted daily seem to be on top of things. A 30-day waiting period for posting a review is not acceptable in my opinion.

Why was a review for escort Sexcap-Las Vegas approved on May 16 2016 ( I thought the escort had to use a real name per review policy). Others have been rejected in the past due to name issues (very similar names).

What is the difference between a RM free member and premium member? What are the benefits of each? What is the cost of a premium membership?

Premium members can view private escort pics/video without requesting code from escort. It only cost $7.99 a month for premium membership. You can also cover your favorite escorts membership/gift membership fee ($99.00 month / $230 three months). Im sure there are more benefits.

I'm very wary about Rentmen reviews. I've done two which posted very quickly - within 24 hours. However, one of them was a three-star review which the escort challenged without my knowledge. Rentmen deleted it without any communication back to me. When I asked why was it deleted, I was given a very flimsy excuse that the escort said no meeting took place, etc. I emailed Rentmen back with evidence that the escort and I had corresponded several times, but I did not hear back, and the review remained deleted. Now, that escort has many five-star reviews only saying how great he is. Bah!

I've been thru the same thing which is why, when there are bad reviews, I think it must be Really bad. RM is in the business of selling ads and who would pay for an ad that says you give crappy service. At least M4RN will post negative reviews (granted, the reviewee can either turn off reviews entirely or change their screen name to avoid them.)

Being a RM premium member and seeing the extra pics is only useful in having additional material to image-search and cross reference (though, occasionally, a guy who hasn't post public face pics will have them hidden... this is rare.)

I have submitted numerous reviews. They have all been posted withing 48 hours--sometimes in less than an hour. With the "check the box" review format, there shouldn't be much information that would need to be confirmed. I am a premium member with a history, so they may just rubber stamp my reviews. None of the reviews available on RM these days tell very much. Yes, RM does post negative reviews. When there are several reviews for one escort, I scroll down the list to see who posted the review (is it always the same person?) when the review was posted, in which city the reviewer lives, and how long the reviewer has been a member of RM and the frequency of their visits to their account. If there is no discernible "suspicious" pattern, I then take the reviews at face value. When there are only one or two reviews, on a few occasions I have contacted the reviewers for more information. To my surprise, most have responded.

You have sent RM emails to other clients and asked details of their sessions ?

I've never considered doing that because I assumed there's a greater desire for anonymity. Are these queries generally well received?

Occasionally I see that my profile has been viewed by a non-escort and since I'm non-searchable I assumed it was someone that saw one of my reviews.

(I also recently figured out that client review history rolls off after 15 reviews... first in first out. Those reviews that are no longer displayed on the client's profile DO remain on the escort's profile.)

I wasn't sure at first how such inquiries would be received--figured they would just be ignored. However, about 4 out of 5 reviewers got back to me promptly. Seemed perfectly willing to share more detailed information, or at least to confirm that the escort was legit and the pictures his. I got replies from, "Nice young man, very sweet, pictures are his." to more intimate details. I also check the reviewers membership dates, other reviews they might have contributed, and the number of times they log on--this to determine the likelihood that they are legitimate clients not merely shills for the escort. When there are lots of good reviews from plausible clients, I don't bother making contact. When I do, I am very respectful in my wordage--"I would be appreciative if you might be willing to share information about your experience..." No one so far seems to have been offended. At least one reply was surprisingly candid. Generally, a thank you is in order when I get a response.

I can see dropping off old review history from a client's profile. Less likely that the client will be perceived as the whore of Babylon--e.g. 47 reviews. As a client, I believe one has the option to opt out of the review history feature. Would you happen to know if on Daddy, one can search for one's own review history? The old memory ain't what it used to be.

I have heard there is a way to search the Reviews for particular client-authors but I've never been able to see it. This may be dicey because I believe that one's Daddys Forum screenname and Daddys Review name can be, and are often, different.

Mine is not and I don't mind receiving PM's about anything I've posted.

(Ditto for RM reviews though I do use a different name there simply because I signed up months apart.)

As to slut-shaming I can definitely understand that risk.

Well for whatever reason they neither posted my review nor checked it with me. Maybe they lost it. I'll try again. It is good review so no reason the escort wouldn't want it.

Generally you get an immediate confirmation that they received it. I would simply try again. Glitches happen.

I tried again but couldn't submit it. There's no submit button. It says they are verifying my account and it could take 15 days.

Well, this is new! Maybe quite a good thing. If they are verifying your account, it means they are verifying their reviewers, which improves the legitimacy of the reviews. If so, this is great news.

The reviews on http://www.rentmen.com are virtually worthless, for the webmaster and company decided NOT to reveal the text in its entirety. A few days ago, I sent communication to him/them inquiring why the reviews are not completely shown; the webmaster got back to me and explained that it was a company decision a few months back not to print the text. Guess that was the repercussion from www.rentboy.com's demise. So, I'll continue to consult this site for some hard, hot, interactive, hung men, but I will NO LONGER take my valuable time and write reviews.

I could give a "rat's ass" in my knowing statistics; they're shown in the ads of the escorts! :( :(

Rentmen's review feature is indeed worthless. I've actually contacted clients by e-mail asking why they posted a particularly vague review about an escort -- for instance, 4 or 5 stars, but would not recommend the escort in question. Perhaps, I thought to myself, one of the checked items was a mistake? Nope. Responses from said clients are rather involved -- not surprising since client-escort interactions can be rather complex -- but without text that provides an explanation for the rating, some reviews appear contradictory and thus confusing. Rentmen is indeed caught between a rock and hard place attempting to keep ad revenue coming, yet protect clients from bad apples, doctored or 'borrowed' photos, etc. I find it particularly telling that two positive reviews from the same client user appear within an escort's ad within the space of one month, following a first and negative one-star review from another client. Daddy is primarily a one man operation -- thus the longer wait time for reviews to post. But Daddy will also add a comment to reviews that he finds suspicious, yet can not completely disprove. I joined Rentmen in 2009, when it began, and even contributed to navigation design from the client perspective. But the new review feature remains questionable to me as regards trustworthiness. The red flag for me? As referenced above, an escort long notorious in the business for providing less than satisfactory services/sessions, and who is equally well known online for trolling porn blogs, gay news and gossip sites, etc, received a negative, one star review in March. No surprise there. His reputation is utter crap. As of May, however, two positive, five star reviews from another client (singular) appear back-to-back. I believe Rentmen would do well to limit their reviews to the actual scope of its business and site -- that is, photo accuracy, a longstanding issue for clients. Session experiences are subjective, and I'd much rather the site use reviews solely to weed out tweaked, outdated, or stolen photos.

@Lurker; If I was you, post the review here or throw up the 411 info on the guy here....your words are appreciated and won't fall on deaf ears. RentMen does HUGE volume, picking up where Rentboy left off...and what I fear, is they're falling into the same trap that RB was- the trap of the $$$$.

They don't view YOU as the hirer, as the 'customer', they view the escort paying the $99 a month...so it's almost like they're afraid to lose HIM, even if that escort is using fake pictures or committing highway robbery. Hence, when your review was challenged, they seem to give the benefit of the doubt to the escort. If you were a 'Premium Customer', maybe they would be more apt to give your words value, but I don't know if that's worth $7.99 a month.

Admittedly, I can't give RM any flak compared to RB, because they actually TRY to police up the bad escorts and the rip offs, the member RikTigger who used to be my manager and now works over there, can see right through a cement wall, he's that sharp...and he does his best to try and weed out the bad ones. However, his hands are tied in some cases. Don't give up, keep sending in the emails, and bad/good/mediocre reviews...you throw enough darts, they'll stick.

I was never able to post my little positive review. RM still says it's trying to verify my identity, whatever that means since they've never e-mailed me. Clearly their system is completely broken. I'll give up trying to participate as a reviewer.

Thanks, @tristanbaldwin! (I note that your response to my comment puts a smile on my face since I am a big fan!) I appreciate the feedback. In my case, the escort certainly has been bantered about on all points of the spectrum in reviews and in discussion threads. That is why I thought it would make sense for his Rentmen reviews to reflect the same range of reviews. But, alas, he has figured out a way to dodge that bullet if potential clients only look at his Rentmen reviews.

However, for the future, I will try to heed your advice to keep worthwhile information circulating.
