I think I found a new, exciting and dirty hobby, estate sales! This last Saturday I went to my first sale in an old warehouse. We found some really good stuff! A Matchbox firetruck, some Linda Lovelace 8mm films (not sure which ones yet), some model trains, a Mariah Carey promo poster used in stores, a Cannon camera lens, a Sears camera and some other stuff. I cant wait to see what they'll sale for on ebay. I can't wait to hopefully go to another sale this Saturday if theres a good one going on.

Hugs,

Greg

Antique shops are great too .Be careful though. Stuff piles up.

Oh I know. I have a friend who goes to estate sales to supplement his disability income and hes got a ton of stuff. I dont have the time to dedicate going more than a couple times a month really so I don't expect stuff to pile up. What I got Saturday is already on ebay and some stuff has bids already. Now, if I can only find an 8mm film projector so I can find out what movies from Ms. Lovelace are....GRRRRR.

Hugs,

Greg

Nice. I go to estate sales to relieve the boredom from unemployment, and to get stuff I need cheaper than in the stores. (I think I got an apron for buck once. Yesterday one sale gave me an old, large glass jar for free.)

The only things I ever bought with an eye to re-sell, which is what you seem to be doing exclusively, Greg, were two vintage Christmas cards.

Like these, by the same artist: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=eyvind+earle+christmas+card&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xeyvind+earle+christmas+card+vintage.TRS0&_nkw=eyvind+earle+christmas+card+vintage&_sacat=0

I've never sold on eBay before, so I haven't listed it yet.

Good luck on your sales, Greg.

Good for you, I love collectible bargains.

This reminds me of a sign I've read in DC years ago, it said:

Do you like sex?

Collect stuff, lasts longer.

Yard sale xx St

Saturday 10 A.M.

After my grandparents died I came upon two reels of film. Started to watch one of them and found it to be straight porn. Gasp. Then I looked at the other reel and discovered it was labeled "Two Men". Never got a chance to watch it. Looked like the films were vintage from the early 60's. You never really know someone ...

Wonder what they would fetch. Can't put them on eBay though. No porn allowed as far as I know.

You can list it under the adult section. If it's vintage you may be able to list it under the regular stuff but not sure. Ebay can be very parsnickery about what is considered porn and what isnt.

Be careful Greg, I love old stuff. It's just something about the history of an item or items that bring back old memories.. but it's addicting..
