Stirppers/strip clubs

Ok this is probably going to sound strange but I have never been to a strip club in my life. We have lots of bars that have strippers here in Los Angeles but I never really understood the protocols for stripping. I realize there are two different situations

 

1. Strip Clubs

2. Strippers/gogo boys/exotic dancers at regular bars

 

I know that everyplace is different but I am guessing there are some common things. So I curious how does it work? Is there a protocol to follow for tipping strippers at bars? How much are you supposed to give? What generally speaking does that allow? (touching, fondling etc) I think the guys in LA are mostly straight but is there a way to see if they escort also?

 

What about actual strip clubs? What is the protocol there? What does a lap dance actually entail?

 

Yea I am naive sometimes but thought it couldn't hurt to ask.

Hey jeepo1, I started to answer your questions and quickly realized that there are probably as many different answers to each question as there are strip clubs, strippers, customers and nights of the week. If you really want to know, go to the strip club of your choice, watch for 15 minutes and if you're still confused, ask a dancer or another customer for guidance. No prior training is required... I promise.

Just make sure you set the price (# of dances, etc.) up front before getting a lapdance. There are strippers who will take advantage of a newbie and before you know it, you will spend $100 on a lapdance. Always start with a single dance (usually $20). You can always keep the dancer in the back longer if you want to.
