I just got back from my trip to Berlin and had to run to the Brussels’ Big Square (Grand’ Place) to see the flower carpet which covers Brussels’ Grand’ Place from the 13th to the 15th this month. I am hardly in my home town and “catching” the event every two years is such a coincidence.

For the record: the flowers are packed together one by one, 300 to every square meter of the ground and +/- 700.000 flowers were used this year.

The BF and I took the train from Amsterdam to Brussels for a day trip in early July. I found the Grand' Place to be awesome then. I can imagine how beautiful it is with all the flowers. Thanks for the picture and the link.

>KY_TOP: You didn't say hi while in Brussels, such a shame :+

We had discussed contacting you for an invite to dinner, but it seems your travels had you elsewhere I believe. I truly enjoyed the day trip there and back. I very much liked what I saw of Brussels, and the easy train trip was so much different from anything I had experienced here in the USA. I hope to see more of Europe in the future by train travel.
