I'm always curious about these "tantra massages" as tantra, in its original form (before it was changed to the erotic based activity it is now in the 60's and 70's by Westerners) is to reach union with the divine through the control of the creative life force. Don't shoot the messenger, I'm only relaying what tantra is in the East, where it originates from. ;) Much like Yoga is much more than just a physical workout, tantra used to (and is much more) than just massage. I don't even know when this tantric massage became a thing. I often hear guys talk about it as if it is some awe inspiring experience.

There doesn't seem to be a standardized format like Swedish massage for example. There is only one "official" (official as in you get certified) course in tantric massage that's located in Germany and they clearly state that their massage is completely non-erotic. Juxtapose that with an escort/masseur saying that tantric massage includes the awakening of sexual and erotic energies by stimulating the genetalia and the whole body. The restraints is the first time ever I've heard about those in relation to tantra massage, again, for me it shows how non-standardized or non-defined the whole tantra word is.

It's a bit like osteopathy was years ago before international boards started lobbying for standardized tests and courses. You could call yourself an osteopath and not even touch your patients (osteopathy is normallly all based on touching the patients). After lobbying this sort of thing died out as everything became more standardized.

Hmm, what was the point I'm trying to make? I forgot... Anywaaaaaay, what I'm trying to say is that I don't see "tantra" as an upgrade from a regular erotic massage. It all depends on the person that's giving it. So for me, it would be a no. Since it could be any type of massage technique just with the label "tantra" slapped on to it. I think you can get the tantric orgasmic experience just as well from a regular old romp in the sack with a guy who knows how to work you over and works you over good. And good. And good... (now I'm horny :D )

I've had a few. As a result, I don't want to have one ever again. For me, it was more about what I realized I wanted out of the experience. I like a good massage with therapeutic elements that address problems/ stiffness in my shoulders and lower back. I enjoy not having to be draped and the therapist having continual gliding motions over my body without stopping to reposition. I like the massage to have sensual and erotic elements that include a happy ending for me and if I am turned on by masseur other additional, and sometime unexpected perks. Every tantric massage experience I have had involved more focus on me and my therapist undressing each other, breathing together, more light touch than therapeutic massage, and movements were very slow and drawn out. I would find myself pre-occupied by too much of the tantric components that to me felt "soft" and slower paced. I recognize that might be just the thing for some people and respect other opinions may very. I was just too impatient for a better massage or a more erotic experience and felt several tantric elements got in the way of both of those. Best of luck to you!
