"A theater fan literally swooned at the sight of hunky British actor Russell Tovey after he took off his shirt during a Broadway show.

A weekend performance of A View From the Bridge had to be temporarily halted on Saturday after regular theatergoer Davin Cutchall fainted shortly after star Tovey revealed his toned abs.

Fearing a heart attack, a call went out for a doctor in the house and three audience members rushed to tend to the patient until EMTs arrived to take him to a nearby hospital."

I had never heard of this actor until now. Looking at his picture, he IS cute! That being said, that audience member should just go ahead and hire himself an escort or two. Geez, we are not in middle ages anymore. Did he grow up in a cave or study at a Catholic school?

While he's cute (and gay), he's obviously been working out as he didn't used to be this muscular. He's made some disparaging comments about effeminate gay guys in the pasty(of course he's not the only one.).

I think his parents should have had his ears pinned back as a youngster.

I swoon. I swoon. I really really swoon. He's charming and sexy and was the hottest guy in HBO's "Looking." His ears are his trademark and all I can think about is holding on to them while he is...fill in the blank.:oops::p

Crushed on him all the way back to his werewolf days in Being Human

I agree. I've had a crush on Mr. Tovey since the film History Boys. Then picked up on him in Being Human. He was "adorkable" long before the term became part of the pop culture lexicon. I still swoon over him to this day.

John Waters says it's the lowest job in porn--foot cleaner. Guess "Looking" couldn't afford a foot cleaner.

All they need is a pair of flip-flops to wear around the set.

I'm on my phone. But I'm betting it would work the same way on most computers or tablets.

1. I hover over the picture with my thumb/mouse and the URL/web address of the picture shows up. If that doesn't work on a computer, I'd try right clicking on it.

2. Once the web address shows up, I'd copy it either by waiting for the copy box to show up on computer or tablet when you keep pressing on the picture with your finger or outlining the address with your cursor and right clicking to copy.

3. Then come back to the Forum. Position the cursor in the Forum text box-where you write the text-where you want he picture to appear.

4. Go to the top of the textbox where there are a row or two of icons. These are built in functions to use in the your posts. Click on the square that looks like a landscape with mountains and the sun. A box will open up. (If it were a YouTube or Daily Motion Video, you would choose the icon that looks like two pieces of film).

5. A box will open up. Put the cursor in the box. And on a phone or tablet, press in the box until the word 'Paste' comes up-then press on it. On a computer right click inside the box. When 'Paste' comes up, Left Click on it. The web address for the picture should now be in the box.

6. Press the 'Insert' button on the 'Picture Box'. And Voila!! The picture (or video) ought to appear inside your Forum Comment!!!

I am in the minority I know, but despite the amazing worked out body, I don't get it at all, Mostly because I find him monochromatic and one note as an actor, with an awful voice (and I am a Brit!). Jonathan Groff, on the other hand I would swoon over any day, looks AND talent wise

Please keep your heretical minority opinions to yourself mister! :)

I agree that his character in "Looking" was a little flat, but did you see him in "Being Human"? You didn't like any of that either?

I wonder if this is some kind of reverse cultural preference going on here. I think the same thing about Jonathan Groff that you think of Russell. He seemed really sweet when I saw him interviewed, but he is pure bland milk toast in my book. And his voice drives me crazy -- and not in a good way. Very interesting....

hahah, maybe......and I knew I would get flack for not loving Tovey, but honestly he is so one note and I have seen him in 5 things.....Groff comes across as at least intelligent in interviews, Tovey said those really dumb things about effeminate gays which did nothing to endear me to him

This thread begs the question....has anyone here ever approached fainting from seeing a hot guy take his shirt off? Or even more? I may get a raging hard on but not enough to draw enough blood from my head to cause me to faint. Amazing that it happened to the guy in the audience.

I think Russell is quite cute aside from his ears. I'm sorry they remind me of a certain Disney character. Luckily he's handsome enough to outshine his ears. And I guess they might provide mighty useful handles if he were kneeling in front of me!! (Although notice my use of the subjunctive mood 'were' indicating an impossibility.)

I saw about 10 minutes of the U.K. Being Human several years, but I don't remember it. So all I really know him from are the articles I've read. He got into a brouhaha several months ago denigrating effeminate gays. But it's difficult to castigate him for that (I wasn't an English major like Michael, but I don't do too terribly with the King's Tongue:p.) when so many have the same feelings. It was very impolitic to mention it publicly though.

I find Jonathan very cute also. But if you want to talk about miscasting, he was not very believable as a straight guy on Glee. I haven't seen him in anything else to be able to judge his acting chops. I doubt I would have seen Spring Awakening. I'm not usually enamored of depressing musicals.
