He did have fun but he is very objective about analyzing things

Yes, thanks for posting. Regarding the author possibly not having much fun, in big crowds at such events half the fun is people watching and also checking out the vendor areas. I have not been to MAL or IML, but I have been to smaller scale events. In addition, I know guys who have attended IML and MAL.

 

The author mentions smaller gatherings such as room parties. Reading between the lines I am going to guess that is where he had most of his fun. Just a hunch!

The thing about MAL that always seemed bizarre to me is that I would meet men who looked like Howie Long & had Billy Santoro voices,,,
