I just heard this described as "Downton Abbey with monsters". Has anyone seen it? It's aired in England and is just starting to air on CBC (Canada), which we get in Detroit since it's so close. I've just set it up to record.

I just heard this described as "Downton Abbey with monsters". Has anyone seen it? It's aired in England and is just starting to air on CBC (Canada), which we get in Detroit since it's so close. I've just set it up to record.

 

I watched the first 4 episodes and gave up. Too much scenery-chewing. The best part was the 1st episode in Ceylon but then that was the end of that. I don't get the Downton comparison at all. There is nothing Downton-like about it at all. It's very gothic and sort of a lighter version of Penny Dreadful.
