I can't believe the judge reduced the bail to such a low amount. She is a felon, isn't she? Wait, she will flee again, with her rotten child, and probably to a country with no extradition agreement. I have some empathy for him; he didn't choose his parents. I have no sympathy for her.

From Perez Hilton today:

Ethan Couch's luck has finally run out!

On Wednesday, a judge sentenced the 19-year-old to two years in prison — a mere 180 days for each of the four people he killed in a fatal drunk driving crash in 2013.

Even though his blood-alcohol level was three time above the legal limit at the time of the accident, Couch was originally sentenced to probation.

His attorneys argued that his affluent life caused his reckless behavior — coining the term "affluenza."

But apparently, the affluenza only got worse. Couch violated his probation when he was recorded at a party with alcohol. After the video went public, Ethan and his mother Tonya Couch fled to Mexico.

He was later captured and brought back to the U.S. in January — but this time around, the Texas teen was no longer considered a juvenile. Appearing in adult court, Couch was sentenced to a total of 720 days in prison.

Judge Wayne Salvant determined that once the reckless adult was released, he would not be able to consume alcohol or leave Tarrant County without permission.

On Monday, he spent his 19th birthday in a Texas jail cell.

We're thrilled that some justice was finally served, and we hope this sentence provides a modicum of comfort to the families who lost loved ones in the fatal crash.

Did you recently read that of the $200,000 cost for Ethan's treatment at the "spa" in Malibu that taxpayers ended up paying for $150,000 of that? Freaking outrageous. The judge, who decided not to run for reelection, should be investigated.

Do you REALLY think some justice was served. 180 days for a life? And, regardless of what is said NOW, Ethan will be out in less than 2 years. I don't think 180 days per life is any justice at all and it is a slap in the faces of the families and friends of the victims. The sentence might just as well have been more probation. At least then someone might find him and do unspeakable mayhem to him!

Thank heavens he's rich, white, and Texan. If he were black he'd already be in prison for life. If he were also poor, he'd be on death row. And if he were poor, black, and gay, Texas would have fried him on arrest and covered it up.

Clearly the judge was too lenient on him from the beginning. The very fact that his "defense" was that his lousy parents never taught him that there are consequences for one's actions should have been all the more reason for the judge at the time to have made it clear to this twerp that there definitely ARE consequences for one's actions. Sentencing him to only probation reinforced the message he had been getting from his negligent parents that he could do what he wanted and not suffer consequences, no matter how outrageous. And I agree that his sentence is still too light. That being said, he was all of 16 years and 2 months old when he killed those people. Not even Texas executes children, regardless of their socioeconomic status. Despite his horrid parents, if there is a way of getting into his thick skull some sense of responsible behavior, he could become a productive member of society.

I get the impression that you think I agreed with the truncated quote from my post...I Don't!! I think he should be put away in a hard penitentiary for tens of years.

"Could" is the operative word here.
