He defined the fascinating androgeny that other lesser artists, male and female, have pursued. He was unique and strangely influential in a largely homogeneous world of music. I grieve him, my lost youth and a world that gets more mundane every day. We will not see his unflinching originality again. Here after, all is endless repetition. I am so grateful I saw him live once. I am berieved at hs loss, but thankful for his existence in my lifetime.

Funny. As alternative as I was in my misspent (but fucking FUN) youth....

I was never a HUGE Bowie fan.

All my friends....were completely bananas over him. I've been dragged to

countless Bowie performances and wacko movies over the years.

I thought he was very interesting and I certainly have massive respect for

him but, somehow his "coolness" just left me "cold". He never lit my fire

the way other performers did. The closest I got to loving him was when

he performed onstage with Tina Turner. Her combustible dynamism contrasted

with his stylized rigidity in a way that somehow made him come ALIVE for me.

Nonetheless, the world has lost a great and dramatic artist and I mourn

our collective loss of this giant.
