Don't forget to visit 82 Queen for lunch or brunch (best biscuits ever) and Magnolia for dinner.

Excellent suggestions, Fluffy, and consider adding Poogan's Porch to the list, two doors over from 82 Queen. Their gator is the best I've ever tasted.

I'm getting hongry. :)

I remember 82 Queen and Poogan's from when I was in Charleston for training on the federal government's dime circa the early 80s. I'm fairly certain I ate at 82 Queen. Not sure if I ever made it to Poogan's, but others in the group did. I had she-crab soup somewhere else; would probably recognize the restaurant name if I heard it or found it on a map.

I agree that lowcountry cuisine is pretty distinctive and can't easily be replicated elsewhere.

Hominy Grill, Hank's, Blossom?

I wonder if Pinckney Cafe is still there? They made the best shrimp and grits :)

Magnolias has the best shrip and grits!
