Hey friends:

I think this has been discused before. Why do people run those fake photo/ads as escorts? Are they assuming when the client shows up, sees the guy is not the guy in the ad; but will go with the date anyway?

Do they run fake photos that are at least similar to thier look; or are the photos completely different than their look? I am guessing some clients might be to horny or intimadated and go ahead with the date anyway. But, is it really a successful scam all-in-all?

By the way - you folks have been incrediably helpful and cleaver in exposing many of these fake ads. Thanks to all of you and Google image search.

Yes they really will. In my begging years i traveled with a female who did these things, fake pics every time and they stayed every time. Some paid and left just to avoid confrontation. I didn't know this was going on at first until the first drama-- we are still friends but i will never travel with her again.

Trust your gut instinct ! If you're that worried book 2 hours and ask them to meet you for dinner, if they say no-- you've exposed ankther Hoe !

I have a friend who frequently hires female escorts here in NYC. He says that for the females, the fake pictures are the norm, not the exception. It happens a lot, apparently!

There is a website that reviews female and trannie escorts but I forgot the name of it.

Here in Belgium it seems to becoming more and more prevalent, the use of fake pictures. Three out of four escorts that peaked my interests here were using fake pictures. And these are guys with guestbook comments dating back years, by different (unique) users on PlanetRomeo (which is harder to fake)...

One was even using pictures of Rafael Lords with the tattoo's airbrushed out. Why? I've worked as a graphics artist and airbrushing tattoo's out can be a pain. Why go through all that trouble? I just don't understand. Another guy was using some hot guy from Instagram's pictures, also with the tattoo's airbrushed out. Why not just choose another guy's pictures or put up your own? I guess they're using those pictures because they resemble them?

Yes, this has been discussed before, and my answer to the first question is YES, based on my own experience. (I hire masseurs, not escorts, so perhaps it isn't the same.) However, even when someone shows up and he isn't the same person in the ad -- but looks OK, anyway -- I will go ahead, since I'm prepared for the appointment, and it's easier to go ahead with it than to turn him away.

That said, I rarely hire anyone without a recommendation that I can trust. Certainly not a review on M4M or Masseurfinder, the two sites I use. Buyer beware -- all the time!

Yes, I have walked away many times from an appt when I found out the pics were fake. But also many times I took the faker because he was attractive, and the experience was great. Posting pics that aren't yours is not always a dishonesty issue.

I know the phenomenon exists, but I have never procured the company of someone using another guy's pics. Wonder why that is? :D

Other times you didn't realize he was using other guy's pics and I'm sure you've met guys who were using their own pics but very old and updated. It surprises me when a guy puts on 10 years and 30 lbs on his way to see me.

The power lies in whomever is OUTSIDE the door which is why that should always be YOU. If the hotel/motel/apt door opens and it's not the person in the Ad we can walk away. But once we open OUR door (or the faker is outside your house or in your building in the hall etc etc) it's WAY harder/awkward/dangerous etc to say take a hikeo_O Here in NYC many fakers are "outcall only".

I am confused. What is not dishonest - ever - about posting pics that aren't yours?

That's why I always warn people about those diamonds in the rough from BP...

Here was the ad:

http://baltimore.backpage.com/MaleEscorts/warning10inch-king-new-to-town/11243175

Note that it started with WARNING but nowhere on the back page site did I see what this means so I thought the advertiser was just being funny about his 10".

Got to the hotel (decent hotel in suburbs)

text him I was in lobby, he ask me if I was law enforcement, gave me room number

open the door and it is very dark, walk in and quickly realize it not the same guy at all, guy ask for

his "donation", I say I am leaving and head for the door, he bolts in front of me, tells me I am not leaving

until he has his donation and that there are other people in the bathroom.

I give him the "donation" and get the hell out of there.

LESSONS LEARNED

1) Never Hire off Back Page. Assume way to many ads there are scams.

2) I had asked the guy to meet me in a public space, the hotel bar or coffee shop etc, he refused.

3) The guy (IN THE AD) was extremely good looking for the $150 "donation"

4) Never enter an extremely dark room and don't let the escort get between me and the door.

5) I never carry any extra money with me when I see an escort anyway and all the more glad I have

adopted that policy as this could have gotten messy.

6) If it seems too good to be true IT ALMOST ALWAYS IS NOT TRUE !!!

7) Stick with guys well reviewed on Daddy's.

I give you an anecdotal example. One of my favorite regulars, when he was starting to escort three years ago, published his ad with other guy's pics. When we first met I took him because he was very hot anyway. His service was excellent. After sex, I tell him that he should stop using fake pics, and he argued privacy issues. He has now his real pics in his profile, but he did not make that decision until he took escorting more seriously.

This is just an example, but I think it illustrates well that this issue does involves honesty, but it is much more complicated than just that. As usual, it is easy to judge others, but if you do want a better undertanding of human motivation, you need to be more sympathetic and open minded.

Is it acceptable for a home remodeling contractor to use pictures of other contractors’ work and represent it as his own in his ad?

If it gets me laid, with an intense orgasm, then sure. Otherwise, no.

'Cause you do your homework? :)

Can we make legit analogies between a socially accepted profession or craft and a marginalized, stigmatized, persecuted by law enforcement one?

They do this.

It's called The Erotic Review (TER)

It's a super shitty practice, highly disengenous, and what most probably never think about is the person who's photo is being used ( I'd be very upset if my image was being used in any way, shape, or form without my consent, especially for escorting; imagine how that would feel if you didn't even escort ) I can understand if an escort wants conceal his true identity but at least he should use an image that is actually him ( cropping the head is very easy, and removing a tattoo is just a few clicks and rubs )

I suspect most times it's not to conceal an identity but rather to lure in potential clients by using images with bodies better than the individual running the ad.
