Does anyone know where and what direction a small town called St. Hyacinth is not too far from Montreal?

Thanks,

St. Hyacinthe is on on Route 20, just north east of Montreal.

You go right past it if you drive from Montreal to Quebec on Route 20.

As far as I know, it's only real claim to fame is as the home to three notable Canadian organ builders:

Casavant Freres, Guilbault-Therien and Orgues Letourneau.

Isn't the internet fantastic?

Here in less then 24 hours, I learn more then I would have ever guessed possible about a simple little village in Quebec!

I understand, that there is also a restaurant there, that serves chicken better, then St. Hubert's BBQ chicken, which I am looking forward to in about a week. It is so good, that I thought we would venture out to see how the one chef in St Hyacinthe does his chickens! It would be nice if there was an Organ concert to attend at the same time! I bet someone on this BBS knows the name of that one restaurant! Do you you think those chickens in any way help with those organ builders? Like helping build a perfect pitch for the organ builders!

Sorry I will be a couple of days late for the BIGG Birthday party, the Quebec-ers throw for me and St.Jean Baptiste every year on the 24th! But promise, that I will try to make up for it!

Chicken and Organs on One street.

I LQQKed up St.Hy on my cars Navigation sytem and found it is all of one street or lane off of Route 20 with NO Points of Interest in the area or any other cities within 20 miles! But it is over 2500 miles from my garage here in San Diego!

So it should be easy to find the Chicken dinner restaurant along the ONE street Chenin ....., within the shadow of St. HY's church! Will look for the sharply pointed steeple.

But I will have to see how three major organ companies can fit into that little village! I trust the church has a finely tuned organ with all that organ talent in town and well fed at that!

The organ sounds should make for very happy free range chickens giving joy to others for a better place after this life.

Did a search and found it is a bigger city, then I thought.

Unfortunately, the name of the restaurant was so French, that I could not remember it. Thankfully, I remembered the name of the city.

I will give the big hotel there a call and see if they might know.

MsClonly,I rode through St.Hyacinth yesterday. It is a lovely place, seems ro be a holiday spot for upper middleclass montrealers.

If you are into camping or hiking it would be worth the trip-but for a chicken dinner:o
