Question for Rentboy.com - survival?

I just wanted to toss this out and get the lay of the land here in HooVille regarding Rentboy.com.

Since we all argree that Hooboy is the gold standard for escorts and clients. I admit I used to depend on rentboy as a backup, however, my visits to that site is becomming less and less since it is soooo slow to load, even with a cable hookup. Since rentboy charges the escort for his listing, I was curious how much longer they can survive if other clients, like me, are beginning to avoid that site simply because it is so difficult to get it to load properly.

At this time Americanmale and men4rentnow is looking better and better, I have had good results with both and almost completely avoid rentboy now.

I tend to agree on the slowness comment.

However, I find I use Rentboy, and americanmale.net in addition to this site for several reasons:

 

* Ability to view multiple escorts on a page, *with the pic

* ability to narrow search to a specific city, not just a state.

 

While I enjoy reading the reviews. it would be much easier and quicker to scan the pics of the new reviews, and only select the ones that had the "type" I was looking for.

 

Now, I make these comments not as a complaint of this site, but as reasons for using the others. The programming involved in maintating the site, the database, etc, is complex, and without big bucks from advertisers coming in, I'm sure is no small task.

 

The reviews on this site help as a guide, as well as the message forums.

 

However, after meeting several escorts that I thought were "good" from this site and their reviews, then discovering that they are the typical stall for as long as you can then leave on the chime of the hour, I find that not all reviews are perfect.

 

However, I've also met many more escorts that do live up to their reviews, and then some.

 

So, now that I've rambled, I guess in closing, there is a place for the other sites. Rentboy does have nice pics, but most of the escorts who pay their fees tend to charge the higher fees. Americanmale doesn't really check out anything, so many of the cupcake scams and other flakes can advertise there.

But so can other guys that are just looking for some clients.

 

I think we all have our own way of mixing the different sites into our decision on who to hire in each city. No one site solves all the problems, nor do we have that luxury in shopping for others goods and services.

 

But the message forum brings me enjoyment in reading, even with the long drawn out conversations sometimes, and often good insight to some of the escorts involved.

I certainly agree about the slowness of Rentboy. They just changed format recently and it's slower than ever. HOWEVER, I use it because it has by FAR the best photos. men4rent only has those small postage stamp things, and rarely are the shots as good as Rentboy. This site only has one photo, if any at all, but the reviews here are, of course, absolutely the best.

 

If this site had multiple photos too, there would be no reason to ever use the others.

Also, I have trouble on men4rent after clicking on an escort there's no way to get back to the list without hitting the Back button. Then it says you have to Refresh then another click on Ok or something. So browsing there is a pain too.

Last time I looked this was an escort review site, not an escort advertising site. I was always under the impression that there was a monetary working relationship between escort advertising sites, such as RentBoy and Men4Rent, Cruising4Sex, etc., who when offering a review of an escort and when clicking on that review request, directed the surfer to this site. But I DO realize, that is, for whatever reason, often times not the case, which is why the reviews on those sites are no longer 1/2 as trustworthy as the reviews on this site.

Same here, and I find it to be a TOTAL pain, especially when there are more photos/more updated info available on RentBoy or this site.

I also use Rentboy in tandem. For some reason I can find more visiting escorts to my city than the same few who post here all the time. Regarding slowness, it's hit or miss. My biggest frustration with them is you have to scroll through page by page in order - you can't skip from page one to page four, for instance. This is a drag for the few cities that have many pages such as NY and LA.
