Brilliant, beautiful and heart-breaking! More an opera than a Broadway show. Theater at it's best! Go see it.

Foxy: Do you know if tickets are available at TKTS? (1/2 price day of)... I was really surprised that Ave. Q took home the Tony for best musical. I still shake my head when I think of the first puppet song entitled "My Life Sucks" and it goes on for 10 long minutes. The words, "My Life Sucks" sung 100x's...

i saw the preformance on the Tony's...over all a moving performance but seemed kind of raspy or off key at times. is that her normal style or was she having an off night?

I got a ticket at TKTS for half price, $51 plus $3 service charge. Maybe it was the heat but there was no line at all and there was lots to choose from.

Tonya Pinkins voice was a little raspy on occassion but it is an extremly difficult role. She is on stage almost constantly singing but she was astounding 95% of the time as was the rest of the cast. I don't know how they do it since the entire play is sung like any serious opera and it must be very emotionally draining to perform. If you go bring lots of tissues because you'll be moved to tears more than once.

I totally agree about Caroline, or Change. It is a superb, moving, funny and involving musical drama. Tonya Pinkins deserves all the praise she has received and more. I would imagine this won't be lasting too long since it captured only one Tony, and that is a shame. It is important theatre done with an exquisite cast headed by Ms. Pinkins. It should be seen by as many people as possible.
