WTF: Girl live streams herself (periscope) while driving drunk, 2 viewers called 911.

She turned the camera on herself, for the entire world to see. A Lakeland woman used the live-video broadcasting app Periscope to show off her heavy partying Friday night, and then narrated her drunken drive home. The bizarre night landed 23-year-old Whitney Beall in jail.

 

Beal broadcasted multiple videos throughout the night, but they stopped once Lakeland Police pulled up behind her. Surprisingly, Beall did not hurt herself or anyone else through the drunken ride.

 

Lakeland Police Sgt. Gary Gross said Beall failed a sobriety test and she was obviously drunk because of her slurred speech, glossy eyes and overall fogginess. But on her videos, with titles like “Drunk Girl Driving,” Beall made it clear she was drunk.

 

“I’m driving home drunk, let’s see if I get a DUI,” Beall said on a video.

My advice, put the fucking phone down, stop texting, taking pics, taping, put the fucking phone down.

I hope she also learned to put the phone down and engage with some of the real people around her, instead of livestream for her imaginary friends watching her at home.

The idea that what one has to say on the phone, on Twitter, in texting cannot wait until one is off the road has created an epidemic of self-centered, childish and dangerous behavior. Yes, "put the Fucking phone down".

not only using the phone but filming herself while doing it as if it mattered. I would tell her: Get a life, put the phone down and engage with people.

If she was out drinking, it is likely she was engaging with people, possibly friends.

If she was "heavy partying" with people, where were those people that allowed her to leave intoxicated and climb into an automobile. Long before this happened one of those people should have taken her keys.

I agree that someone should have taken the keys, I'm not sure people who have been doing "heavy partying" would be responsible enough to think of doing that.

Her narrative along with her irresponsible actions is an indication that alcohol is not her only demon.
