Earlier Today I Recieved an Email that Adam4Adam was No longer Advertising people as "Escorts" Furthemore any Graphic Pictures or "Wording" That was Suggestive would be Removed.

I think this is Only the BEGINNING of a Post Rentboy World as Other Websites are Scrambling to Figure out how to be Less "Suggestive" I Believe the BIGGEST Change we are About to See is The "Review" Section(From sites like M4Rent etc) Completely being Removed as those Tend to be a little more Graphic. Its just Sad(As an Escort Myself) as Id rather a Client Hear other peoples Experiences to get a Better Idea, Not to mention this Opens the Door for those Random people who Escort for a Few Months and give Horrible Service. Us a Bad Taste in other Peoples mouth(I Cant tell You how many Times a Client told me their Bad Experiences....which Reviews helped them be more at Ease Hiring me) If I were a Client I would Be Uneasy about Hiring someone Blindly.

Can a rentboy type web site be set up in Canada or other non US place to continue to offer this service? I am with you that it will be risky and scary to patronize an escort without the help of other clients. Come on, someone. This would be a public service and surely there is money to be made. Thoughts?

Anton,

This got me to thinking and did some more digging based off your digging. I found some additional information after looking at the trademark applications and cross-referencing some of the information that use to be on the RentMen site earlier this year. I now believe RentMen is primarily based in the United States with some type of contact or presence in the UK and Bulgaria.

Rentmen Ltd. is a limited partership organized in Bulgaria. The Rentmen trademark is owned by Rentmen, Ltd. One of the partners in Rentmen, Ltd. may be a US resident. Another of the partners appears to be a Bulgarian national. The original assignors of the Rentmen trademark were the partners in Rentmen, Ltd.

One or more members of this board have talked with employees of Rentmen who indicated they were speaking from the Netherlands.

It will be interesting to see what happens when the US government figures this out:

You don't have to read either article. Just read the headlines, or scan them. They both deal with the real deal when it comes to terrorism. And the sad reality which I learned from The Economist after the terrorist murders of Jews and journalists in France. Seemingly, the worst thing you can actually do is throw a bunch of jihadist whack jobs in jail together and let them fester and organize. The direct result is more terror and murder, sadly. That has to make it incredibly frustrating for law enforcement, not to mention regular folks like us who are counting on law enforcement to keep us safe.

If you guys want to talk about the merits of websites going outside the US, be my guest. But my vote is in: it's a stupid idea. I like this website just fine, thank you. It has served a very valuable purpose and helped a lot of escorts and their clients play safe, whether it's weeding out disreputable escorts or having cogent discussions about safe sex and PreP.

If the websites do move offshore, don't assume government zealots can't get to them. More important, do assume that government zealots who can no longer use a "wholesale" strategy and shut down websites will instead go "retail" and simply try to shut down you or me.

Finally, and most important, sending them overseas, anywhere, is at least a little like throwing Muslim whack jobs in jail together - you are just creating more opportunities for bad things to happen. I've already more or less trashed Amsterdam for doing a pretty crappy job running their brothels, but in fairness I have no particular reason to think Rent Men would do a bad job running a website out of The Netherlands. But really, why would anybody welcome that? Especially government agencies trying to stop global trafficking? And Amsterdam or someplace like that would be as good as it gets. The part of this whole thing that is really just playing with fire is assuming that the narco's who gave us the 50,000 kids at the border last year, more than a few of whom were murdered or died along the way, aren't smart enough to figure out this gives them a new business opportunity. Unlikely, but not impossible, any more than it was impossible to think that throwing Muslim thugs in jail in France - where most people would agree they belong - would actually just breed more terror and murder.

I think it's pretty obvious, notwithstanding Tom Dart's denials, that driving female escorts off the Web and on to the streets actually reduces their safety, not to mention pisses off residents of the neighborhoods they show up in. It may be less obvious that moving escort websites offshore would reduce safety, for everybody. And I do mean everybody. You want to invite truly criminal elements in, and make it harder to hold either the websites or the criminal elements that abuse them accountable? That would do it.

Once again, I heartily agree with just about everything Steven said, but there are some reasonably sane perspectives

about things which I can't bring to using the term "like" for. Sorry for the verbiage.

Anyone here know why escupido isn't used more by US escorts? It seems to be very popular with foreign escorts, even in China. Do they charge more?

For one thing, a website whose name is a play on words in Spanish is less likely to appeal to or be easily remembered by men from the U.S. looking to hire in the US. Even though English is heavily influenced by Romance languages (Latin and French more than Spanish), a name that obviously foreign is likely to be a hindrance. People in the U.S. want to be addressed in Amurican, yo.

No puedes al menos deletrear la palabra "American" correctamente, QTR? Que lastima! ¿Dónde naciste?

Hm. Maybe I should have added "/end sarcasm"? :D I was trying to replicate the pronunciation of a certain segment of the population. Think of Larry the Cable Guy. I even thought about spelling it 'Murican but decided not to.

I remembered enough high school Spanish to figure out what you wrote before I ran it through an online translator just to be sure.

Also, how do you insert the accent and the upside down question mark? (If the latter has a name, I no longer remember it.) If the answer is that I have to toggle into HTML and look up the appropriate code, no thanks, but if there's a faster way to do it, like say with the Rich Text Editor, I'm all ears.
