Are the detailed reviews on Rentmen gone? All I find are the generic questions and answers with a one word description, even when I try to click on the review, the detailed review is not there. Anybody else notice that?

That is one of two things:

1) Basic ass-covering by RentMen

OR

2) A system bug due to the upgrades they are currently doing.

Yes. Perhaps you could contact Rick, who is a member of this forum, and ask him for an explanation. Last week, he explained that RentMen was undergoing several upgrades, so as Odinochka said the reviews could be invisible due to in-progress system upgrades.

Another option is to use Rentmen's "Report a Bug" or "Contact RentMen.com" features. Links can be found at the bottom of every page on the website.

If you look closely, you will notice the removal of some interview questions and responses as well. Proceeding with caution in this environment is smart business for all parties.

Thank you for pointing that out. I noticed that, too, but forgot to mention it.

This thread and Daddy's statement that he does not feel comfortable publishing explicit reviews got me to thinking about review and the complaints members have logged over the years. For me, the most valuable review contains the following information:

  • How was the info-gathering process, e.g. what is the escort's tone; does he text, email, phone; was he direct or evasive when answering questions?
  • Are his photos and description accurate?
  • Did he do what he said he would do?
  • Was he engaged or mechanical?
  • Would the reviewer recommend?

The explicit details of the encounter are meaningless unless I like to do exactly the same things the same way as the reviewer. If I love a guy to be all sweaty from the gym and the reviewer only likes guys who are freshly showered, shaved, scented, and deodorized the information about the escort's grooming are meaningless. Likewise, if I like to kiss and the reviewer does not, I can't get information about the escort's kissing skills because kissing did not take place. I wonder if we will see the end of escort reviews cum short porn stories.

I agree in general - though I do miss the chance to check on more explicit details, both in reviews and the ads themselves. And if a guy has multiple reviews, your point about specifics like grooming, kissing, etc, are bound to be answered by someone.

Same with the ads. I liked the specific lists of preferences on Rentoy and Rentmen, for instance, though I see that such lists are still searchable on RM - it just takes a little extra energy to do it instead of seeing the list already presented. I see that there's a safe sex listing now - seems to me that was gone for a few days.

I also see a few guys, in the Boston section of RM, who have joined since RB is no longer available, and they have new pics and even some new vids. I'm noticing the videos are being allowed even though they're explicit. Hoping this will stay. Also, I'm hoping that in time, RM (and our reviews here) will allow more of the content they've been cautious about. If no major incidents happen in the wake of the RB demise, it may be that we'll eventually feel less cautious.

I did ask directly on the Rentmen site why the reviews were all of a sudden only showing the header information and not the actual text of the review. I got an answer from an administrator that it was for "security reasons" and the full reviews might once again be available at some future time. It sounds as if for the time being, Rentmen will not be publishing anything but the review header information.

In the meantime, in writing reviews for Daddy's site, I think rvwnsd's important points for a non-graphic review are excellent. Until such time as the site feels more comfortable publishing reviews with more details (which, being my salacious self, I have to admit I enjoy both writing and reading!) I plan to write my reviews covering these five points conveying as much information as is possible without being explicit! JMHO.

I wrote a nice but not explicit review for one of the guys and noticed too that the write-up is no longer posted. I'm guessing that it is caution against incrimination.

Thanks for sharing that information.

Awww, shucks. Thanks for the shout-out. :)

Here's a suggestion: write the explicit review first, save it, and then write the non-explicit review. When someone asks for information on a particular escort you can send them the saved explicit review by starting a "conversation." When you read a sanitized review, reach out to the reviewer and ask for the salacious details.

You get to write a review, you get to read salacious details on request, and the site need not worry about the thought police. Win-win-win!

Excellent idea. The more "personal" details really should be kept out of public view anyway, from my perspective. If I as a potential consumer wish to know specifics about a certain contractor's work, then I could address my question to the appropriate reviewer.

If I could like this 5 times, I would.

As a caveat, though, I do think contractors who receive 2 or more negative reviews should have a flag attached to their review page. That would let potential consumers know "This individual has provided multiple instances of bad service". Some get distracted by the visuals and gloss over details....and then complain here about the service because they did not do sufficient homework.

I occasionally will write a PM to a reviewer asking for more information if I need it or asking whether a particular companion will provide a particular service. Although I tend to feel like I am bothering them, most people feel that this is what this cite is for and are more than happy to answer my questions. I am really appreciative.

I'd have to disagree with you. While I don't need to know every application of lube or every grunt and groan during a meeting, the purpose of the site was to let people know what they might expect to decrease the odds of a bad meeting or to let people know about someone who is untrustworthy.

Now we may because of circumstances have to cut back in details. But I'd submit that this is not a good thing. In fact before all this happened, the reviews with little information or the common 'I hold the experience between me and Guy X to be a special bond between us that I will never divulge' might just as well as not have been written. If the all the review tells me is that a living breathing person shows up, then it's fairly useless. It's a shame this has had to happen at any time. But especially now when fees are sky high. Now it's even more important to get as accurate as information as possible. The reviews were one way to try to perform due diligence. But now because of circumstances, clients have one less tool in their armamentarium.
