I feel like there have been a lot of these fake ads in San Diego lately.

Sometimes, it's hard to be certain that the photos are fake. This one, for example, at least used multiple photos of the same guy. It seems like in a lot of cases, the scammers use photos that lead to totally different men.

I ran across one guy recently who was using photos of a very common stock photography model. I pointed this out to him, and he claimed that he was really the model. I was never convinced, and I didn't hire the guy, but I'll never be sure.

(The ad we're talking about is for "LuckyLeo1" who is currently advertising with the phone number 619-399-2803. He's also advertising on masseurfinder.com at http://www.masseurfinder.com/members/luckyleo.shtml. Curiously, the text of his ad is the same as this one for "RugbyMuscle" in New York: http://www.masseurfinder.com/members/rugbymuscle.shtml using the phone number 323-899-2600. I include this to help people who search for this in the future, after the ads are down.)

I think "Rugby Muscle" is legitimate. He has had a "custom" ad running for years in LA. That ad states he is now in NYC.

I don't want to publish Franco Corelli's actual name here, but he is now a PhD and assistant professor at a university in Florida.

Not to make you doubt your gut instinct, Corndog, but I once had a hire whom I thought looked very familiar. After our encounter, I told him I thought I knew him. He said he gets that often, and he then showed me his model portfolio. He was a stock model -- the generic guy you see running on the beach in all those travel ads!
