I once lived with a cat whose Elizabethan collar (that's what those things are called) had to be removed because she kept bumping into the furniture with it and couldn't drink from her water bowl.

Watch her try and get a drink. . .. . There goes the wine rack!

She looks like Bette Davis.

She looks like Helen Mirren.

Personally I don't see it.

You're right. I changed it. Thanks for the tip! http://www.boytoy.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.png

One of my cats had to wear the Elizabethan collar after she was spayed. I brought her home from the vet and then went out to dinner. When i returned home I found the collar wedged between the leg of a chair and a leg of my dining room table. The cat was looking at me with the look that says "really?".

I'm probably dating myself. But where are the petticoats?

I'm confused. Doesn't she look like Helen Mirren because she is Helen Mirren?

I've dealt with some VERY unhappy dogs over the years who were required to wear Elizabethan collars for a relatively short period of time (though it felt like an eternity). I don't even want to think about what would happen if my cat had to wear one. It wouldn't be pretty. Possibly even worse than the now infamous "Thanksgiving Day Flea Massacre" which involved me single handedly bathing the cat in the kitchen sink while Thanksgiving dinner was cooking. It would not be an exaggeration to say there ended up being blood on the walls. Mine.

That's similar to my first attempt at making deviled eggs with my pastry bag, which ended up with egg on the walls.
