Here is one more thing that sheds light on another aspect of his persona. Palmer agreed to a settlement with the Minnesota Board of Dentistry over allegations that he sexually harassed a receptionist.

If not veneers, some possibility it could be another phenom I saw in a dentist friend's wife -- over-treatment with the laser whitening tool. Her photos looked like this, but in person you could see it was her real teeth, but this unnatural shade of white.

Coming from someone with a mouthfull of veneers, looks like Dr. Palmer broke the cardinal rule veneer selection... by opting for veneers that are too perfect and too white. When a dentist starts showing a patient veneer color options, almost every patient initially goes to whitest of the white sample and says "THAT'S the color I want!!" At which point a good dentist will start to reel you back to reality a bit and explain that the goal is to have the veneers look really nice AND NATURAL... and that blizzard white teeth don't look natural on anyone (much the way 40 DDD boobs tend not to look natural on just about anyone). Looks like Dr. P definitely went for the pure white absoutely perfect option - with the result being that they look completely fake.

 

Why do I have a funny feeling there's at least one pimped-out Hummer in one of Dr. P's garages??

Yeah everyone wants shade B2 on the Vita Shade guide. It's whiter and brighter than shade A1 for some strange reason. I always told patients that they canceled Baywatch. You can't audition. Go with something more natural. Patients also make the same mistake when bleaching and especially those who self bleach. It looks great if you are twenty-something, but...

 

I won't mention any names, but an escort or two have made similar mistakes.

A lion mauled to death a guide leading tourists on a walking safari in the Zimbabwean national park where Cecil the lion lived before he was shot, police said Tuesday.

 

The guide was attacked on Monday after the group left their vehicle to inspect a pride of lions with cubs under a tree in the Hwange National Park, the country’s largest natural reserve.

 

“Some cubs came near the tourists and one adult lion identified as Nxaha charged at them,” police spokeswoman Charity Charamba told AFP.

 

“The adult lion retreated for a while and then came charging at the guide. It knocked him down and mauled him on the neck and shoulder."

Please don't celebrate the mauling death of a guide who had nothing to do with the lion hunt, and who was leading tourists on a peaceful photo safari. Of course, it's never a good idea to get between a lioness and her cubs, although in this case it was the cubs who approached the tourists, so its kind of a tough situation. I, too, have gone on a photo safari and approached a (cub-less) pride of lions, although I was in a roof-less vehicle. Notice that this vehicle does have a gun, just in case...

About the same when I wanted my teeth whitened. The dentist said I had perfect white teeth and did not need it. I insisted, they pulled out the color chart, I pointed to the ultra white of the whites. the dentist and his assistant laughed and said "You don't want tic tac teeth". They showed me my natural color on the chart... after the illuminating discussion with the dentist, I choose not to whiten what was already perfect
