Washington Post reported today that 63 "Johns" were arrested in last two weeks for soliciting. It included soliciting streetwalkers and via online ads. Sounds like it was all for M2F prostitution.

I have seen the streetwalkers in one of the areas targeted; though they didn't bother me personally I'm sure they did bother the owners of expensive condos.

Not sure why Internet-based solicitation would also be part of the sting except maybe the hotels complained.

Regardless I suggest being extra careful for in-calls to hotels.

I know allot of it comes down to complaints from neighborhoods and businesses but hetero females are usually targeted and the gay community is left alone pretty much. Of coarse it's not necessarily just about the women as to what they attract. Pimps, drugs, etc.

"Many prostitutes also turned to the Internet, setting up meetings at hotels online rather than trolling street corners.

Recent police operations have focused on Internet sites on which prostitutes freely advertise, with undercover officers placing fake ads to lure men to rooms.

In January, such advertisements resulted in D.C. police arrests in hotels in and around Thomas Circle.

In February, a lawyer from a downtown firm was fatally stabbed and robbed in his Thomas Circle hotel room by a woman who had answered an online ad he posted. He had been seeking a man, although, police said, a woman showed up and killed him in a robbery. The woman pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in May."

Above is part of the article that DickyF posted a link to. It suggests that clients who plan on hiring an escort may find it safer to do an outcall to the clients hotel room. An incall could be wire tapped and video taped and suddenly be swarming with cops. Of course, robbery or worse is always a danger with any loccation.

Lets all make suggestions on how to keep ourselves safe and jail-free.

This is interesting...

I was checking out this guy on Boyscort - the pic caught my eye - the ad text is unreadable. Image searches of the pics in the ad didn't find any matches though GAYPHONESEARCH returned these pics.

Googled the phone number 941-536-1823 and up popped a link to something called ESCORTBUSTS.COM (as well as some other ads for a female escort)

It purports to track escort ads that are used as stings - which seems to be pretty difficult as the only way to find out is to contact the number and schedule sometime. If you know this then you've probably got more pressing things on yoru mind than update some web site.

Anyone seen this sort of thing before?

On a slightly different note, I wonder what's going on in Canada now that escorting is not illegal but being a client is.

Gman

There's all sort of weird laws like this. In a vast oversimplification, in the Netherlands it's legal to sell pot, but not to possess it. Or maybe its the reverse. Too many trips to AMS, LOL.
