Some clients have said that they request a quick, informal selfie from someone they plan to hire for the first time, and about which little is known via the message boards.

How do the professionals feel about being asked for that? Is it something you consider reasonable and will provide if you fell the requester is serious about hiring?

fake advertisers usually change identities often.

Is this statement based on your personal experience and participation in this august Forum?

Which handle did you retire? ;)

A review with obsolete and useless information is worse than no review.

That's where we disagree. Any information that aims to warn fellow members cannot be totally "useless". Some scammers may change their numbers and names, others don't ... We've seen that happens here.

In the end, it may be helpful to others, clearly not to you.

PS: Speaking of what is useful: Scorpio is one of the most helpful posters here and a well of information on fake profiles and scammers.

I haven't hired 40 but about 15. Maybe I'm lucky but I've never gotten a fake. Most of them had reviews. I now look for reviews from reviewers with multiple past reviews. Obviously I'm relying on reviewers that took a chance.

One hire last year had no reviews and he was outstanding. (And yes I submitted a review.). I'm about to hire another with no reviews.

Does it make sense to trust reviews from reviewers with multiple former reviews? I assume Daddy verifies that a reviewer has multiple prior reviews. I know a fraudster could write multiple fake reviews to garner trust but that seems unlikely.

Good question. I have tried to answer that myself. I am aware of others who have had similar good luck as you report. Then there are others in this forum (even in this thread) who reported bad luck responding to bogus ads.

The only logical reason I can figure is that it may have to do with the type of escort I prefer (very masculine but not overly muscled). Many of the type I like often tend to be "bad boys" rather than other escorts who tend to be more "mainstream" by comparison. Perhaps the type person I prefer is more prone to placing bogus ads. I am guessing.

I have never hired from a review on this site.

When I said that nearly half of the ads I answered were bogus, I do not mean that ALL the advertising escorts with bogus ads were useless. I mean that their ads were not truthful and most had fake photos and some were outright con artists with an agenda to rip off gays responding to their bogus ads.

Many guys who showed up where handsome, but they were not the person in the photos.

Some guys were not at all good looking. Some were threatening, some were working for a person placing skillfully worded ads, and the beat goes on.

Considering that you have had only good luck with escort ads, can you pass on some useful tips on how I might avoid future bogus ads?

Three of my first four hires were guys with minimal or no reviews. I guess I just got lucky. One guy was not the guy in the pictures; no face pics but an arm with nothing on it in the pics suddenly became a full sleeve tattooed arm in person. Still had a good time with him. One guy is no longer working. And one guy is a regular I see quite often.

Since that time, other than the one guy I see a lot, I have only hired well-reviewed popular guys. Every time time I have contacted someone with no reviews, something has set off warning bells or they don't respond, or they don't answer direct questions...and I have not completed the transaction.

Maybe I'm just a little skittish, but sticking with the well-reviewed guys that communicate well has worked for me. There are a fair number of them and a lot of them travel often or I am traveling to their area. I just see no reason to engage in a session with less certainty. I know I'm missing a few hidden gems that way, but I'm also not having any headaches.

I'm no master at hiring, but I've noticed some trends that can help you out. Especially since I know the type of ads you've been responding to.

It's not these individual items, but the combination you should worry about:

1: "My pics at are 10000 percent me." Why is he out of the gate defensive in his profile?

2: "my 9""my 10""my 18."

3:"New in town""visiting " Jump on this profile is still up, I'm not going to be out of prison forever.

4: overly bullet pointed profile. It's easier to create more profiles and quick changes this was.

5: "I'm a Master Dominant Dom Top who is very Dominant" (I wonder if this guys a top).

6: into everything but bottoming.

7: emoji lover(more a backpage thing)

Again this is not an absolute, and if a profile has one of the things I mentioned, it may still be real. But all of the things I've stated.

FWIW, reporting a faker will at least force the dishonest 'escort' to get a new phone number, get new pix, get a new ad (pay more money)?

I say report any fakes ASAP, and you may help a fellow hire-er avoid a scam. Make it as hard for the scammer as possible.
