Howdy Guys~

Just a quick question for those who have definite picks as to which website offers the BEST & WORST in last-minute, discount packages... Both in the states & overseas.

Suggestions please, but also if possible, include WHY you find the site so __________ (insert adjective here).

Warmest Always,

There was an article posted about a similar topic on the "cheapest" online sites last month that was informative. I did a search and found it. I am not sure how to post a direct link, but the messege posting number was #63254 and titled "Mystery solved-Cheapest Online Site"

I am not sure which ones are the "best and worst" , but would also be interested in others experiences to find out. I have only considered a few package deals from expedia and travelocity but never booked a package that included both airfare and hotel. I always suspected it was more econonimical to book a cheap flight seperately and then find a cheap hotel seperately. American Airlines have been running low air fares recently and you can sign up for email notices when they go on sale. Also Travelocity has a similar rate drop alert that emails you when certain flights go on sale in the cities you want to fly to come up(once you sign up and create a profile of cities you are interested in for future travel).

hope that helps

:-)

Benjamen,I have found great packages by going to the airline sites and looking for their last minute packages.United Escapes is the one I am familiar with-you get miles, and maybe hotel credit also.I would think AA would have a similiar service-but check around. On United's site they have two vacation links-United Vacations and United Escapes-escapes is the one you want.

I have used Priceline and hotwire for vacation packages-OK if you do not care about miles(seldom givin on trips booked via theese sites)but I can USUALLY do as well or better going through United.

Good Luck.

I will private you with a a few links that might be helpful.

Ben check out http://www.travelaxe.com It's a program that you download onto your computer and it can search hotel, airfare and car rentals all in one window. When checking hotels it searches depending on the city 5 to 6 sites at once and lets you compare hotel prices by class and such. I have found that at least for hotels it offers much better deals then expedia or travelocity. Hope everything worksout for you.

Hugs,

Greg
