This is so common in Miami, it's almost a joke now. This guy poses as a legit escort but is nothing more than a hustler. A bit of history, I contacted this guy after I saw his many ads on Backpage he posted in a period of a few weeks. I have a thing for thuggish looking guys and this guy accepts in calls and he - literally - is located 1/2 a mile from me.

I contacted him sounded nice on phone said to meet him at his motel which he says he paid the room already - it's one of those no tell motels ( this I found rather odd but what the hell ). He said he was a top and his fee is $200 an hour which is the average for Miami.

I met him there and his pic was accurate, he's an extremely hot looking guy in person but it quickly went down hill from there. He was high as a kite, his room had this combo smell of those cigarillos sold in gas stations and weed like he smoked an hour earlier with windows closed and odor remained. I should have walked out but idiot me I remained.

Luckily I can tell he bathed before I got there. He claims he's a top but he was so high he couldnt get an erection, he doesn't kiss, he's not into touching, hugging, he was just laying there. I suspected he was a straight guy doing this for extra money maybe drug money who knows. I had other suspicions about this guy but I couldn't confirm them. Out of the blue he asked if I wanted him to jerk me off which he did do and I did cum. Afterwards he said his fee is $300, I told him we established its $200 no more ( he's really worth $2.00 or free) . I paid the $200 and quickly left - but that's not the end of this tale.

The next day he texted me asking for money, said he "really needed it" asked again for $200, I said no period. In the middle of the night he texted again asking for money- I didn't reply. I never heard from him again. ***please remind me not use BackPage ever again! Lol

Thanks for posting JC. I can commiserate. I had my own bad experience this weekend. It didn't really help that for a while the sex was pretty good. But in the end he turned out to be pretty much a douche bag. And I even found him on Rentboy. So that's no guarantee. Actually, neither are good reviews. So just chalk it up to experience. That's what (I try) to do. I've found great guys through BP and Craigslist that I never would have found if I hadn't taken the chance.

Dutchmuch - I officially gave up on Backpage...this guy which I posted about gave me an impression he did prison time, couldn't find a job, started doing this - again it's just assumptions but my instincts tell me it's a fact. At least on rentboy you can leave feedback/warnings, on backpage nothing

Same BS on Rentboy....lying liars ....photo shoppers...identity grabbers...all I can say is the whole thing stinks...preying on a vulnerable person is a crime...mostly a crime that is never reported...or cannot be reported....It's a buyer beware situation with unknown persons....frankly my hands are not only perfect...they are my best friends...lovers...easy to clean up....

I wrote a review recently (not yet published) concerning a paid advertiser on Rentboy...he was a total sham...liar and thief...I did not let him get away with that!..if the review is not published I will be very disappointed....and will post the name....

I think that for as long as there has been money there have been people who try to steal it - and this includes hustlers. I think the good news is that thru forums like this there is a means to identify quickly those who remain in one city and to warn others.

A couple of months ago I had a session in Atlanta with a guy who had both a RB and BP ad; it was mediocre and non-remarkable but I might have considered him again. However a few weeks later another poster wrote a warning about this individual stealing from him. This guy has a current BP ad but, given the warning, I won't be contacting him again.

 

What is more difficult are those who change names, use fake pics and move from city to city. For grins I hotlist'ed an obvious scammer advertising on RB in Miami (even emailed him and asked if his pics were real- no response). In the 3 weeks since he's changed cities 3 times. I think before the forums these guys were completely vaporous and impossible to track. Now we can and do post warnings, such as the above. If anything I thing the odds of getting ripped off are less for those who are vigilant.

Backpages ads notoriously fall into the "fail/scam" category.

nynakedtop, I think I'll need to readjust my preferences in men...sadly the thuggish looking guys I like are just real life thugs/hustlers exploiting us or worse in some cases. I'm pretty new to hiring and boy I'm getting a crash course in it but definitely learning what some of the warning signs are! Definitely it's s hit or miss game but I'm grateful for this site, especially the forums.

 

Is he thuggish enough for you? There's a lot of pornstars with tattoos, jewelry and baseball caps out there on RB.

It happened during an incall. I had so much fun in Vegas and spent a lot of money on escorts up until the end of my trip when I decided to hire a guy off Backpage who once I entered his room robbed me of $350 and my rolex. I'm just glad to be alive. But try explaining a missing rolex to your wife..

Why would you go to any stranger’s apartment or hotel room with excess cash and expensive jewelry? You can’t place all the blame on Backpage.

gotta say I sometimes like the edgy vibe of backpage dudes.....my two and only two meets with backpage guys (in LA) were entirely successful, but one of them did come with an endorsement from a poster here

I have to say it makes me cringe every time I hear you guys discuss meeting people in this way. And it has nothing to do with business—but everything to do with safety, stings and other shit that has been well-documented.

Plenty of guys have used BP without incident. If you’re not one of them, then you probably shouldn’t use it. But don’t speak for everyone else.
