How do you ignore a thread?

I've dug around a bit and I'm not seeing it.

I don't there is a way to totally not see it. But at the top of the thread on the right is an option 'Watch Thread'. If you've made a contribution to the thread (which is why I assume you are receiving alerts about it), click on that. It should give you an option to quit watching the thread. On the other hand if you want to change your overall notifications (alerts), click on the 'Alerts' in the upper right hand corner of the Forum Header. In the box that pops up, click on 'Alert Preferences'.

I'm not getting alerts on it. I was thinking of a way to not have a forum show up as having new posts if there are only new posts on a thread I'm not interested in.

 

For a specific example, the "Hot wired" guys thread in the fetish forum. I'm not hot-wired that's the only thread with any activity in it and I'd rather not have the fetish forum showing as having new posts, if that thread is the only one one with new posts.

 

Now that I type it, the phrase "first world problems" keeps running through my head.

That's what I used to do, but one time I accidentally clicked on a thread I wasn't interested in and it spoiled my entire day week month.

 

Now what I do, just to be sure it doesn't happen again, is log out of the site, shut off my computer, call and cancel my internet account, run my hard drive through with a power drill, and book a flight to Romania.
