If you look through my earlier posts, you can read my recommendations on how to make the best out of your Starbucks visit, even if you only ever visit Starbucks at the airport (remember to bring a metal commuter cup so you don't have to juggle your luggage and that damn spillable paper cup that gets cold right away.)

Coffee is my only addiction, vice or what-have-you, and I could care less.

It's not the morality of the coffee addiction that motivated me to ween off. It was the fact that on those days I didn't get enough coffee, or god forbid none, like when camping, my head felt like a roman candle. And that's why I recommend it, just to remove the need but none of the pleasure. 15 years ago you couldn't reduce or stop daily caffeine because Decaf sucked. Now, it doesn't. Yeah!

Chris, I'm the same way in that it makes me sleepy half the time as well. It's actually not that unusual. This article explains why, and it also supports what SoCal Guy and Rod Hagen said about what's needed to get the jolt: either have to increase the caffeine or lay off of it for a few days.
