It is totally over the top. The music, the frame shaking, the scream ... very 4th grade. I know you watch C-Span so this may be a stretch for you.

By the way, have you ever had an erection while watching C-Span? There are some handsome people on their once in a while.

I'm with Rick on this one, I don't see the humor. VDN doesn't get out much,it seems.

I have a friend who correctly refers to "reality television" as "humiliation television". I can't watch a minute of it.

P.T. Barnum: "There's a sucker born every minute."

H.L. Menken: "No one ever went broke under estimating the intelligence of the American public."

Well, my breathing does get heavier when Howard Dean is on. }(

I get out plenty sister mister. For me, the humor is in the parody-like feature of this promo. Reality TV is so over the top and it is on every other commercial I find this particular promo/show is making fun of itself and the reality genre. I guess I find deep humor in the stupid. NOW GET OFF MY TIT.

How about 30 seconds? There is some good reality out there, like "Resident Life" on TLC.

>I am not letting this die.

Maybe you should. I'm with the others on this one. If I had a kid or close relative that did something like this to me, you can bet your sweet ass I'd be changing the will.

I think the entire premise of the show is in poor taste. x(

I'm not against reality TV and have actually enjoyed some programs. This show doesn't seem to be the harmless humor of something like Candid Camera. It seems more hurtful.

This is about the most disgusting thing I've ever seen on TV. The premise of this program is so wrong on so many levels. For starters, it just isn't funny. In no way, shape or form is this "reality" TV. There is nothing real about contriving this sort of situation. Family relationships could be strained beyond breaking over a situation like this.

Candid Camera was funny because of the gentle element of surprise. This "wedding" thing is shocking and boorish behaviour. I guess I still have hopes for something to come out of my TV above the level of fart jokes.

If the religious right is against gay marriage, they certainly ought to speak out against this sort of nonsense. Are we really this desperate for something to put on TV?

LOL - I totally agree! I think the premise of the show is deplorable. However, the web promo is almost satirical of the whole reality genre and that makes me chuckle.

Local Teacher is Bride!

Check this out. Turns out from the article, the producers of this "reality" show are being their usual, duplicitous selves. The "groom" in the series is an actor, as are his family members. The "bride" turns out to be a teacher in a Scottsdale based Catholic school. Here is the link to the story from the Arizona Republic:

Sounds like the teacher is going to get fired.
