ADs at "Backpage.com"

Fellows,

For the past three months, I have been "scouting out" the ads at www.backpage.com in the San Francisco, San Jose, California area. ...have found highly enticing ads along with photos but am skeptical about hiring because all of the ads are primarily for a massage, and the guys in which I am interested have always cited that they are "sporting" or "carrying" a long, big dick: 9 or 10 or more. I question!

 

...have contacted a few asking about fee and how long they plan to stay as a visitor, but that is as far as I've gone in seeking out a hot guy from this website!

 

Have any of you hired from this website, and what was your experience like.

I've hired from them in the distant past. But the majority of the ads I see seem to be of the thug type (their words not mine) which doesn't appeal to me at all-and I read most of the ads-and while I could be wrong, the word SCAM seems to float in front of my eyes.

I've hired from BP before with pretty good experiences. I never hire visiting advertisers, though. I only hire from local ads that have been around awhile.

You need to be comfortable with a lot of uncertainty and a fair likelihood of encountering some flakes. If you are, the payoff is that you can meet some real gems.

I've had a couple of good experiences hiring from backpage, but I approach these ads with the highest possible level of skepticism. Most of the ads are bad news, I believe. I avoid anyone with even a hint of thuggishness (not my type, anyway), and I always google their phone numbers and photos to see if there are any inconsistencies. Sometimes, I'll inquire about whether they'd like to parTy, or if they're willing to bareback. In both cases, that eliminates them for me.

I've met two guys from Backpage and both playdates went very well. However, I have noticed the proportion of quality ads diminish here in Southern California in the last six months. Like any other venue, you have to read the ads carefully and make sure you know what you want and who you are looking for before reading ads.

What I love is when they have a link to a related ad down underneath the ad for a handsome guy, you click on the link, and the related ad is for a female or transvestite escort.

Perhaps the ONLY good thing about BP; when they post different ads from the same ISP, or the same addy or phone #. BP lists the OTHER Ads below. (that is NOT the poster's choice btw, ESP when they have Ads running with conflicting descriptions or claims) THOSE "other" Ads by this poster" is oft what x's them off my list :-)

I did do a chance meeting with a guy off of PB once last summer, and it turned out nicely. (Though ultimately, I don't think the guy had has life together at all, even though he was very nice and very good. He moved away shortly after we met, somewhere into the ether, lol.)

 

There's one guy that places periodic ads on BP, and I know he's legit (I know him, though not as an escort, and I've often toyed with the idea of trying to set up an appointment, but I've always been shy about it lol). So I know there are people that place ads there (and not often on the other sites) that are for real.

Exactly....and there are plenty of flakes on the "traditional" sites as well.

Yes I have found there ARE a some legit hesitant newbie guys who list on BP when a situation in their lives suddenly neccessitates, who do NOT list on RB (perhaps because a RB type site makes it too real for them) and when their situation turns around etc they disappear. (again easier to disappear on BP than RB) I've hired one college guy who's ad appeared only briefly on BP and I caught him at the right time and was able to see him occasionally long after he'd pulled his one time ad. BUT I still say the majority of scorts who's ads appear SOLELY on BP I'm not sure I'd trust to even walk my dog.

When I was browsing for my first experience in the Escort arena, I stumbled upon BP (didn't really know it existed, I guess?) and followed some of the posts/ads with curiosity. I'm in agreement with Gar1eth that at least in my area of the country a number of the ads were of people referring to themselves as "thug". Many seem to be more of the "urban/badboy" type but some ads over the months weren't that way. I'm also not certain, but do these people advertise for free? Or do they have to pay to have an ad on BP? I'd just like the CSI team to have a paper trail if my body showed up floating somewhere.

 

After my first lackluster experience with a rentmen.com escort, I'd be hesitant to hire someone that didn't have at least a single recent review or (now that I've found this forum) polite discourse regarding positive experiences people have with specific companions.
