The second post on the Deli is titled "How to Simplify a Rentboy Ad's URL." If you follow the instructions contained therein when posting links you will not make the same mistake.

But sometimes if the the ad has expired, the escort's ad will be there under a new URL. As a last resort, if you are intent on finding him and the simplifying Rentboy URL tricks don't work, go to the Advanced Search and enter the escort's name in the text field without specifying a city. That might occasionally get you a result.

The simplification of a Rentboy ad URL is a means to paste the URL of a current ad from Rentboy to a post on the message center. It goes without saying that you can't use the instructions with an expired ad because there will be no URL to simplify.

The simplification rules are also useful when someone has included an incorrect link (for some browsers/computers) in a post (such as not including the 'www' in the link). For a lot of us, directly clicking on the link posted, will end up with what looks like a dead link. But you aren't going to know for sure that the URL is expired (ie the ad is dead and gone) until you try the simplification techniques. If the techniques don't work, then the ad has expired. But occasionally the escort has a new ad either in the same city or in a different city with a new URL-so you should try the advanced search. Or if on a computer and not on a phone, you could try finding a cache of the ad on Google and see if there is a phone number or private email to contact.

One other thing I've found that has given me contact info for an escort whose ad link, for whatever reason, no longer works and/or has an expired or no concurrent ad up on RB is to find his most recent review (if he has one on Daddy's) and check the phone number/email information shown there. They may no longer work either but sometimes they do, just as with one escort who I really liked just being able to inform me with an email response to my inquiry that he was retiring and no longer escorting!
