RentBoy Contact Question

I seem to recall a post indicating that contacting escorts through the RB Email option wasn't that reliable, that escorts often didn't receive the emails.

Am I remembering accurately or not. I like the initial contact to be through email rather than phone or text.

Whenever I contact an escort, I contact the on their listing or on Daddys. The RB e-mail really isn't reliable.

You always hear on this Forum or in the escort ad itself that Rentboy emails are not reliable. I have no reason to doubt people that this may be the case sometimes. But it's usually worked for me although I admit to not having used it in awhile-probably at least a year.

I have no trouble getting emails sent through rentboy, but agree that there is some sentiment on the board that there is/was a problem.

I almost always hear back from guys contacted through Rentboy......the very few times I have not, I've simply decided it was the escort's own choice not to respond.....rude but his choice.....

(also though, he might not respond for any number of reasons - the dates or location that I'm proposing might not work for him so he figures why bother to reply......which are kind of valid reasons but still somewhat rude not to respond & state that at least)

Every so often RB emails don't get sent to my gmail account. I have done weekends where I looked back at rb and saw a few emails didn't make it to me and kicked myself because they sounded like fun clients. I have gotten in the habit of checking my RB email when I log in to set my availability so I don't miss prospective clients. Its a little irritating that emails get lost but its the price we escorts pay to be on RB.

I'm glad someone brought this up! I'm not especially tech-savvy, but unless I'm missing something, when receiving a note from a potential client using the RB server, I can only hope they've taken the time to write their personal email or other contact info somewhere in the body of the message. Emails received directly

thru RB originate from "no-reply from rentboy" and any reply to this address is immediately bounced back with an auto-message confirming "reply not sent". I must instead start a new email stream on my gmail account to the clients' own web address. Although it's true that emails to escorts & masseurs from Rent Boy / Manworks say they're from "no-reply@" they can in fact be replied to directly with the client receiving the reply and replying in turn. Personally, I've had no trouble interacting this way from my Hotmail account. The only issue I've had is that occasionally the client's spam filter will screen the reply.

I too have had trouble with RB emails not reaching advertisers--have had this happen on several occasions when I have repeatedly tried to reach somebody. Some of the escorts may have been ignoring me, however, I don't think that would apply to most of them. Nothing in my initial communications should have scared anyone off. On a couple occasions, after repeated attempts to send a message through RB with no reply, I have sent a text message to the escort's phone number, and they got right back to me. Glad I am not the only person who has had this problem. It doesn't happen all the time.

I emailed a guy yesterday about 3:30 using Rentboy's "Email this escort", since his ad indicated he preferred email contact. After about an hour with no response, I texted him via the number in his ad and he responded immediately, and we met up last night.

 

I got an email from him about 10:30 this morning, looks like the email didn't get delivered to him until 9:45 this morning.
