A dear friend from Chicago, who moved to seattle many moons ago, passed away on Christmas Eve.

We had a memorial in Seattle. Now it's time for a memorial in Chicago.

 

[As an aside: we Both went to high school at Oak Park- River Forest High School]

 

I'm looking for a venue for a memorial in Chicago. Mostly locals, so accommodation is not so much of an issue.

I figure: 20 to 30 max. We would need nibbles, wine. Maybe a slide projection.

 

Any suggestions for a hotel that could accommodate us? Maybe 2000 north, circa Halsted (800 West)?

Offhand, I can't think of any hotels near Armitage and Halsted. However, The Inn at Lincoln Park is in the same general vicinity at 601 W Diversey Parkway (600 W 2800N) and they mentioned having a meeting room. http://www.innlp.com/wp/

 

The Hotel Indigo is located on the Gold Coast at 1244 North Dearborn Street and they seem to have one or two meeting rooms.

 

You could also contact nearby DePaul University and see if they have meeting space.
