Fellow Members of this site, I hope to be in Lisbon, Portugal during the latter part of this year [2015]. ...would like to know what the escort ["rentboy"] scene is like currently. ...have done all of the reading in the archives [which is somewhat outdated] and have consulted other gay-related websites related to travel to some of the various cities of the world, but for Lisbon, Portugal, there is little regarding saunas [...guys for a fee] and/or bars or escorts period. Although I know that I will enjoy the culture and the city itself, I would like information, if at all possible, about the male sector who resides or travels there for some fun and play! ...have/am still consulting http://www.gayromeo.com.

Today is 11.01.15; my trip is now planned for 2016! Shoot, por favor!

Hi Axiom, i was in Lisbon twice earlier this year. Had some mild success with gayromeo, but nothing spectacular. My humble suggestion would be to fly to Barcelona and visit Thermas. There will be plenty of hot young guys and you will definitely have a lot of fun. If you have time, visit the Gulbenkian museum - a treasure trove of porcelain and also the Mercado da Ribeira food market. Have a fun time!

Trying to follow...are you going now? This last quarter or in 2016? The season will matter a lot in connection to your original question

My trip takes place in 2016 for three weeks (Although I plan to extend it before or after.)

Muito obrigado! I thank you for your advice culturally as well as sexually. ...hope to do on both counts!

Completely agree w/ Cany about trips outside Portugal to possibly get more action. Portugal is a lot more conservative vs other European countries and things may not be as overt as in Spain, for example. However, the food, the people, the history etc will more than make up for it!

The season will matter a lot. I like to go in the off season bc you get to see the real Portugal, before British & German tourists descend. :) With that said, my inner whore had a fabulous time hooking up with Dutch, French, and some Brit gents while in Lisbon.

If you are in Lisbon and decide to extend your stay, it may be worthwhile to check out the Azores Islands...check out Pico Island! Btw, the Azores are (I think) the highest volcanic islands in the world if you measure from beneath the surface. Gorgeous, almost untouched scenery! You will need to make arrangements while in Portugal. Hard to make flight reservations to the islands on your own from the US - unless you have a travel agent. Flight time is 2+ hours into Ponta Delgada from Lisboa.

So envious! ENJOY!
