Escorts, what do you do with Grindr (or other app) inquiries?

Let's say someone on Grindr recognizes your profile as pic from from rentboy, would you entertain his inquiries on an app? Or do you not entertain escort requests via apps at all?

On other hand, if someone on Grindr does not know you do escort services and offers you an amount lower than your rate, would you entertain such?

Are you aware that Grindr is a hookup site and their Terms of Service forbid sex for money?

Are you aware that in the US escort services is forbidden by law? (with a very few exempted states)
yes, but that's not germane to your original subject, DUMBASS!

The chance of a rentboy being caught in a forbidden act by a state are far less than a Grindr member being busted for soliciting $$$ by Grindr and then being banned off the Grindr board.

Satisfied???

True, but that doesn't mean people wont try it anyway. Plus, does Grindr monitor personal chats? Anyway, to respond to the OP, i have seen some escorts on Grindr, and I'm not sure whether or not they were "working" or just trying to hookup, but either way I'm sure many escorts on there have had their fair share of offers regardless of whether it violates the terms of service or not.

Usually I will respond with a kind yet to the point response, especially if they say they know I am an escort and are inquiring I send them a link to my advertisement and state that I do not conduct business through grindr as it isn't allowed by their terms and conditions and that if they would like to see me all my contact information along with rates and reviews can be found through the ad.I also find that these same people are often the ones trying to hassle on rates ect. they feel just because your on grindr they can get it for a lower rate. I have actually had one be so rude as to say well I would never pay anyone that much for their time after saying I couldn't accept the low rate he was looking for.

Let's try looking at what Grindr says about it's site:

Grindr Profile Guidelines

Rules and regulations for joining Grindr

We reserve the right to remove/crop any photo and/or text we perceive to be outside these guidelines.

[i've edited out a fair-sized list of

Notice: Any violation of the above guidelines could result in a permanent ban from Grindr.

Seems abundantly clear that if Grindr reserves the right to remove/crop text, and can permanently ban participant, they can read your personal chats - along with the NSA apparently.

And how about this:

Instant Message. When you send an instant message (which may include photos, location, audio or video) to other users of the Grindr Service, we will retain the messages (“Instant Messages”) as required by the operation of the Grindr Service.
Not only can they monitor personal chats but they RETAIN personal chats...

Of course, Grindr cannot physically monitor ALL personal chats 24/7, but they would rather act on "ALERTS", when members would report those who seemingly break the rules.

In that aspect "retaining" the personal chats comes handy. [/color]

Yep. Also, Grind doesn't allow pornographic pictures as stated on their terms and conditions (you even get that message before sending a pic) -- and yet everyone sends dick pics all the time and have yet to be banned.

Being an older guy on Grindr, I get solicited all the time when I'm online. Usually the first or second text line is a few $$. Given that Grindr has no requirements to set up a profile, banning someone is pretty useless. They just create a new profile and continue on. There is hardly any "Brand" concept for the guys using Grindr thes way. Just my experience.

From Grindr's Terms of Service:

You're Banned from Grindr

August 26, 2013 13:21 Local Time

Our Review team must ensure that all profile content adheres to Grindr's Profile Guidelines. Certain terms, phrases and even photos will result in a permanent ban from Grindr.

Banned users will not have access to Grindr, and will receive the following message:

You have been banned.

You are currently banned from Grindr as you have been reported as violating our Terms of Service. This is likely due to offensive content and/or conduct within Grindr. If you feel that you have been banned in error please contact Grindr support via a support ticket.

source: https://help.grindr.com/hc/en-us/articles/200302284-You-re-Banned-from-Grindr

Except that they block that device from ever using the app again.

Apparently there's a way to get around the banned device ID thing.

Going back to the original question.

I don't show my face on my ad for various reasons, one of which is that I don't want my work to spill into my personal life. When I am working, I am working and I focus one hundred percent. When I am off, then I am OFF. Would hate to constantly have to weed out what messages are from potential clients and which ones are from possible hookups.

This doesn't mean that I have not received many offers of money for sex in pretty much every setting; grinder, scruff, bars, bathhouses, etc. When that happens, even if they offered ten times my rate, I politely decline and move on. A man needs to have time off. Being constantly on call or seeing every man around me as a mark would be exhausting and would reduce me to being just a *****, as opposed to being a man with many different things in his life, one of which is *******. Sounds similar, but for me there's a huge difference.

If anyone is interested in using my escort services it's because they are aware of my brand, because they saw my ad, my pics, my reviews, my description. When that is the case I don't have to explain why my rates are the way they are, or justify my boundaries. They are what they are and if the potential client agrees with them I will be thrilled to see him. When someone is aware of my brand, that means that this is a man who has put some work in trying to look for a specific experience and immediately I can tell we already have something in common.

The only way to hire me is through my ads and my reviews. Works best for me.

Great reply. That's what differentiates PROFESSIONALS from others. Congratulations

A true ban from grindr is no longer possible since they switched to logging in with accounts. Your account will get banned for life or basically the email address you used to sign up is banned for life. But you can easily create another account with a different email. Grindr doesn't keep track of device id's anymore. I've looked for escorts on grindr before and can say I've been banned several times, but I just kept making a new profile to get back on. I have found 4 great hot young hung regulars on grindr who are much cheaper then escorts that advertise on sites. I'm not a cheap person it just seems these guys are more of what I'm looking for than I can find on a site....and yes I know I shouldn't have done it that way but it worked for me and I have have 4 amazing guys I am now seeing weekly! A differnt one for every week in the month!

I've noticed lately that several escorts in Manhattan have links to their escort based twitter feeds on their grinder profile and no one seems to mind anymore. I get inquiries fairly often via both grinder and scruff and it's the same rate as if they had contacted me via any other site.

  • 1 year later...

After being banned from Grindr 5 times, and exhausting every email address I have to set up a new account, I finally gave up. My profile pic was always compliant so I can only guess I was banned for "talking business" with guys who reached out to me and inquired about scheduling. So either Grindr does monitor conversations or the inquiring party decided to report me. Scruff seems to be more relaxed, however if someone reaches out to me, I direct them to my website and ask them to contact me through there.

Wow, that's cray. But, I have to say my feeling about Grindr is its just not advertising worthy. The type of man that uses Grindr doesn't even appeal to me as a client. Every guy I've known, that uses Grindr is looking for a cheap, quick fix. Half of em are full of **it. I've actually had a front row seat when I shared a hotel room with a non-working friend, as to how hookups on Grindr go. No talking, just straight to sex, discard, and on to the next 30 minutes later. I even got "sucked" into a 3 som, in which case I felt so dirty I had to go get my STD screening a little early.

Scruff is the way to go, but unfortunently the Grindr fungi tends to spread amongst the apps. Same mother fuckers will hit me up on Grindr, then follow me on scruff which I have a completely different name and picture. I had one trick yesterday, we were trying to set up a (free) blowjob at his place. I'm not really into all that come over in 15 minutes shit, but these app guys have turned sex into pizza delivery. He was trying to rush me to meet by a certain time, which would have given me hardly any time to get there and enjoy. Then he followed it up with "this is complicated, and I can't meet after I get from the gym because I'm going out with friends."

These guys nowadays... Trying to treat me like some $2 trick on Xtube. That's why these days, I'm finding myself very rarely hooking up for free with anyone. The blatant disrespect is a turn off to me. I rather sell my body than sell my soul and getting treated like a dirty hand towel. And most these guys on Grindr had some weird complex where they have sex with people and then trash them or talk shit about them afterwards.
