Funguy was making a joke. It's an American expression 'Looking for love in all the wrong places'. It usually means someone who maybe has gotten into (sexual) trouble or embarrassment from some escapade that they probably knew they shouldn't have gotten into in the first place. For example- example- a rich guy who goes to the poor side of town to look for girls and gets beat up by thugs. A woman who starts a correspondence with a con man who is in jail for bigamy- decides he is her one true love. He gets out. They marry. He robs her of all her money. The situation could also be less serious in nature- a boy in college trying to hit on someone who has no interest in him at all and rejects him- all of this being watched by the guy's best friends who can then joke about it to the guy's discomfort. You could also use the same expression for a client who becomes too infatuated with an escort.

 

The 'Love' in the expression could also mean 'sex'.If you went to a gay bathhouse, and either there was no one there you were interested in or no one was interested in you. And you tell a buddy. He might reply, 'You were looking for love (sex) in all the wrong places.'

 

But in this case- Funguy was making a joke on your writing that we were looking in the wrong place for Berlin escorts .

I second the recommendation for gayromeo.... a few years ago I had great luck utilizing gaydar, but I understand from many of our posters that gaydar is not what it used to be. I met many a fine guy (not escorts) as well as some very hot escorts and masseurs on several trips to Berlin, but I must admit the very finest was a guy who I found on gayromeo. Steven is right about Gay Romeo. I spend 2-3 months a year in Berlin and travel extensively in (mostly northern) Europe. You wouldn't go to NY without looking at Rentboy. Don't go to Europe without Gay Romeo.

The ravage of crystal meth in the gay community in Berlin is astonishing.

 

You can see it when you go out in the sex/night clubs at those big events during Folsom and Easter.

 

I know someone who moved out of Berlin for the reasons johntx mentioned above.
