Apparently not, as heartthrob Rafael Nadal wins the French Open:

There are such things as tears of joy, or crying when deeply moved. XD After all, it was a record-breaking performance. But I bet I'm not telling you anything you don't already know.

Anyway, congrats to Rafa!

I know, they are emotional moments, and tears often flow depending on how things unfold. It does seem a little off to see the winner in tears, but, as pointed out above, I do know why-usually.

Many many people cry when they're happy or moved by something .. and that is often not sad. When I have thought of the few times I've gotten choked up recently (being at the Masters, seeing the Queen at Normandy, watching Djokovic getting prolonged ovations after he lost and seeing him tear up) it had absolutely nothing to do with being sad. It was being moved by the occasion and feeling happy and emotional ... but definitely not sad.
