So I want to apologize for sounding like a jerk, but here's the thing. Who knows why people become escorts, actors, models or any of the looks-based professions, I'm sure there are many reasons. Some of them are thick skinned;others not so much or the constant need to try to please everyone gets to them. So we end up with beautiful women starving themselves to death, body builders taking steroids and escorts flipping out because they are getting older, don't have six pack abs, or what not. I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to constantly have people criticizing every aspect of your personality and looks in public, and some will complain if you're - too hairy, too old, too young, too smooth, too White, too Black - take your pick. So you may be right, maybe it's life if you're an escort - but I really like some of these guys, they're human beings like the rest of us and it costs me nothing to be kind. And maybe, just maybe, one of them will repay the favor someday by not laughing uncontrollably when they see me. :)

I think 'Construction Guy' has a good look and is successfully appealing to a niche market.

He has some good reviews on Squirt: http://www.squirt.org/facebox00

I understand that concept totally. An acquaintance of mine recently told me that I only appeal to a ' niche market'. Unfortunately for me, my 'niche' is much narrower than his.

I have yet to meet ANYONE who doesn't have some level of body image issues. When you work in the sex industry whether it be escorting, porn, striping, etc your monitory worth is determined on your looks. No matter how much self care one does your self worth becomes tied to your looks, the degree of which depends on the person.

The reason I posted initially was I was floored by the callous disregard for a providers feelings. If I stumbled across a post about my body and found a lot of negative comments I know it would hurt my feelings because I am person which people seem to forget. Escorts have feelings no matter how hardened we become every so often something gets through. We are not indestructible despite what you may think, if you don't like our look then don't hire us but please don't say disparaging things. Whats the worst thing that can happen from being thoughtful and kind?

This is a good point. These squabbles on the Deli seem to focus on people wanting to persuade or "win" an argument, but what it comes down to is people having different opinions and tastes. I'm not sure why people put so much energy into trying to have the right answer or put down others who don't agree with them, when all they have to do is disagree and leave it at that. One guy likes ripped, another likes an everyman... so what? That's all fine. Why all the energy for needing to be right?

The escort in question will most likely be directed to this thread by someone posting here (they always are) and will read through all the comments, and yeah there is some rude stuff here. Personally I love his look and would love to meet him, and agree it looks like he has a good sense of humor.

I've met lots of construction workers (assuming he is one) and most are damn smart, but in a different way than academic smart. I'd bet he'd have lots to talk about. Also a lot of guys in construction (particularly contractors) have come into the work from different backgrounds (including professional/academic), so you'd be amazed some of the stories they have to tell.

I was reading an interview with Trevor Wayne where they were asking him if he's always been uninhibited and comfortable being naked in front of the camera, and he answered that he's (maybe surprisingly) not totally comfortable in front of the camera. He said he tries to push it all aside and create the best image he possibly can, and he tries to remember not to compare himself with anyone else. I find him very sexy so found this interesting, and a good rule of thumb since none of us can appeal to everyone. And as Chris mentions, pretty much everyone has body image issues of some sort (even the super stars in the adult industry - just ask them) so I thought that idea of not comparing with others was pretty sensible.

Chris, I see two different reasons:

1. Many people don't realize how their words (and actions) affect other people.

2. On-line, protected by anonymity, posters would say/write things they wouldn't say in a real-life, face-to-face conversation.

Thank you for caring!

Don't worry jimboivyo usually plays the devil's advocate just to contribute to the debate.

Not all escorts are "Greek gods", besides someone who's a 10 for me might be a 5 for someone else and the other way around too, we all have different types we like

Besides YOU (no matter how many things you'd like to change about your looks) can go to a bar and get laid for free with someone young, 99% of the clients on here CAN'T do it.

+100 to you all. I sometimes feel like quoting Rodney King: "Can't we all just get along?" Or at least be civil and kind.

Tguy, like tyro, I hope you have a great time.
