A man 'addicted to porn' has launched a legal battle to marry his LAPTOP.

 

Chris Sevier, an attorney and music producer, filed a 24-page motion which appears to be a protest against gay marriage in Utah.

 

Mr Sevier says if gay couples "have the right to marry their object of sexual desire, even if they lack corresponding sexual parts, then I should have the right to marry my preferred sexual object."

 

According to his document his preferred sexual object is his "porn filled Apple computer."

I gather the entire thread is intended to be a joke, but on the serious side.....

The key to the argument to marriage equality is that each party would be entitled to marry the other partner but for their same gender...Each prospective spouse can assert the right (but for the same-gender disqualification) under the 14 amendment equal protection clause to enter into the marriage transaction with will result in a change of legal status--conferring legal benefits. So Justice Scalia can rest assured that recognizing a same sex marriage doesn't mean that a man can marry a laptop or a goat. Neither the laptop nor the goat have legal federal constitutional rights under the constitution.
