I think if an escort shows up and doesn't look like the pics they're advertising (in every important detail) the client has a right to cancel. I once had a guy who advertised himself as a "frat boy" -- with all that usually implies -- and looked like one in his pics and he showed up in full makeup with light glitter on his chest. I'm sure my jaw dropped and he explained he was on his way to a party after our appointment and wanted to save time.

I'm more like PK, in that I hire for a complete package, and not for one particular trait. I think the OP and I have somewhat similar tastes, but if a guy I hired showed up shaved and with toenail polish, like PK, I would have tried to expand my horizons. Of course, the OP has the right to be as picky as he wants with his hires. But this borders on viewing and treating our hires like products that we purchase which must meet exact standards, rather than the valuable human beings that they are. It's unclear if the likes/dislikes exchanged beforehand stressed to the escort the primacy the client placed on being hairy and not having toenail polish (I suspect that last part never came up). In all likelihood, the escort never thought that his masculinity was somehow compromised by these two things, which is why he didn't mention it, even if he knew the client valued masculinity. :-(

This is a lovely ideal, and it is certainly the attitude I would have in choosing a boyfriend or even a pick-up for casual sex. But the reality of the escort business is that many clients do regard an escort as an object which they are purchasing, and many escorts market themselves as such. If the client is hiring to fulfill a fantasy (which, let's face it, is what a super-masculine guy is), and the escort is offering to do that, he should be very careful that he understands the elements of the fantasy. Not being a fly on the wall during the arrangements, I do not know how the fantasy was communicated, so I don't know if the escort was negligent, or the client wasn't specific enough.

Pure and simple this is a business transaction. It appears the escort made the effort to contact another guy to fulfill your request. In my opinion you should have been prepared to honor the original request. If you put yourself in the shoes of the escort he had to contact the other guy and explain that the meeting was off. The other guy might not have been happy with the escort. The escort is a professional. His reputation is everything to him and time is money. I think the fault lies with you for being unprepared.

In my opinion, if an escort advertises as "hairy" and then shaves it off, it is upto the escort to tell that to a client. Otherwise, it is difficult for a client to go through a check list.

I could go through a checklist, say, hairy/smooth, muscular/twink, etc but surely painted toe nails or not is not something I would ask every escort I hired !!

Reminds me of something I just experienced in DC. Hired a guy advertising on Rentboy (not a tattoo in sight). He comes over and has tattoos all over his chest, arms, and back (a huge turnoff to me). I made a comment that he didn't have any tattoos in the photos on his ad. I went through with the appointment, but won't call him again.

It's such a relief to read a post by someone of like mind. I hate tattoos. It doesn't matter how hot the guy is, they really turn me off just as the OP was turned off by the painted toenails. I thought I was weird and a fuddy-duddy because of my aversion to tatts but I just can't get it going with a guy who's covered with them, especially on the back for some reason. The few times per year that I use escorts, it's the second question I ask after the price.

There's this one guy I hired several times. The second time (only) he came with painted toenails. A total surprise and a total hoot. He's 125% straight.

I agree. I'm not particularly found of facial hair except for a Clark Gable-like moustache and I once had a guy show up with a full beard (like 3 days not shaving). It really killed it for me. He just said "what's the big deal." Of course, he gave great blow jobs so I just overlooked it.

125% straight? Where's the extra 25%? :)

Apparently, there's a new fashion hailing for the West Coast for men sporting black toenail polish.

It's not something that I'm into (it's rather strange to me), but it's worth mentioning that it exists.

I'm a simple man and prefer everything au naturel: no make up, no painted toenails, no perfume. :)

How do you calculate the extra 25% straightness ?
