Last night I saw this one man play and was very impressed. John Douglas Thompson did a very good job all by himself. I know little about the life of Louis Armstrong but this short play about him raised my curiosity.

Caveat: As I get older I am more bothered by adult language. This play is full of it, if you'll pardon the pun. Nonetheless, it's a good show and I recommend it.

And it is written by our favorite critic, Terry Teachout!

Teachout is my favorite theater critic ... he seems to be the only one who tells the truth as the performance actually is ... not like most critics who have their sacred cows and won't criticize them. Like Brantley. You can guess at the time a play is ANNOUNCED exactly how he is going to review it.
