How do you strippers do it? I made a complete fool out of myself once again by trying to dance at a bar. Each time I say never again but over the weekend I found myself on top of a bar taking my clothes off in front of a crowd. I guess I can be bought! I even told the owner upfront that I totally suck at stripping but he didn't seem to care until it was too late. Fortunately he felt sorry for me and let me finish the night as a "go-go bartender". I totally love bartending and am pretty damn good - the customers seem to have a good time anyway - at least a better time with me behind the bar rather than on top of the bar. I love regular dancing and am fine on the dance floor but get stripping involved and I totally bomb. Do those of you that strip regularly practice or is this one of those situations where white, blond muscle dudes just can't dance?

Oh, I've seen blond muscle dudes dance on stage before and make a great impression, so it's not that.

I think you just need a supportive audience (each with one hundred $1 bills) and a few pointers on how to channel the music.

If you come to DC, I'll be more than happy to volunteer for a role as a supporting audience member! :)

Mr. Muscle,

It has been my observation that there is no requirement for a stripper to have the ability to dance. Many if not most can't... lol. There are three types of dancers in my opinion of the moment. THose that can pick up a beat and have a sense of rhythm, those that are free of the burden of a sense of rhythm but sensuous and erotic, and then there are the unfortunate who are in a sense clueless why they are up thereand shouldn't be. The common thread of the first two that makes for sucess is a strong streak of exhibitionism. It makes up for lacking talent or permits the talent that is there to be displayed. The guys I have met really get off on it and it keeps them going almost like a narcotic.

I bet!! I'll let you mix my drink -- stirred not shaken please, with YOUR swizzle stick. :9

One trip to the Gaiety will prove that you don't have to dance to be a good to be very popular. Some of the Gaiety's most famous guys just "walk" but "how they walk". Maybe a trip to the East Coast will help, and I"ll teach you everthing I don't know about dancing }(

That's me alright but I'm a huge exhibitionist at heart. I just suck at the dance moves. I know there's a lot of bad dancers out there but at least I know I bomb and limit myself. I guess some could say practice, practice, practice but I'm not into that much. About once every two years I get talked into it. I even told the owner that I sucked but he didn't believe me until he saw me. I like bartending much better and you can be just as provocative and erotic if not more so. Private parties are best for bartending or other "exhibitionist activities"

"I even told the owner that I sucked"

I hope this wasn't during the audition! But seriously, if you are easy on the eyes, most people don't really care how well you can dance. Just look good!

SO don't dance Bobby, exhibit!!! }( That is what most of the crowd is there for anyway.

Half the battle is the right music. For those not particularly gifted with Danny Terio genes or the latest incarnation, Wade Robson -- a hottie, I suggest 'The Lady in Red' a senusous song that adapts itself to smoldering exhibition of the body undulating and wrything under the hot lights. :9 One or two dance moves such as seductive rotating grinding and pumping hip movements provides the transition from one hot 'pose in motion' to another. Plenty of hand movment on and around the body. Use the floor as well and remember no need to always keep the feet below the waste... lol. Much of the crowd will be fixated on the taught sinewy muscles in motion as well as the 'naughty parts'.

Of cousre, truth in advertising -- see other thread-- dictates that I tell you I'm only a theoretician here... bolstered by much observation. :D

>I know there's a lot of bad

>dancers out there but at least I know I bomb and limit myself.

That may be part of the problem... going in with the ' limit myself' mind set. Don't dance.. exhibit... and seduce as you would a lover across the room. ;)

Or... be a hot sexy bartender and stir my drinks mister... using the undulating hip motion -- no hands. :9
