Even if I was tempted to try a cruise even knowing how it would turn out, I can't now.

Ya just never know! Suppose your career turns around and you become fabulously wealthy and decide to take a dozen escorts on a round-the-world butt pirate orgy cruise. You could always slip on a poop deck full of splooge and tumble boots over tricorn into Davy Jones' Locker. http://www.boytoy.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif

(even if you're slightly overweight and over 50, Gareth).

Unfortunately I'm more than a little overweight. My BMI is 35 and I don't have the advantage of having heavy bones. Also I'm not usually attracted to guys as big as me. They don't have to be svelte. But not as big as me. And as for the advantage of being around all gay guys, I remember when I went to the big Bear Meeting at a local bar. There were tons of bears there. I was spoken to by two guys all night- one guy who wasnt interested but wanted to say hello to everyone there and the other guy asked me to move out of the way as I was blocking his path to the bar. The only other guy I spoke to was the guy selling Jell-O shots.

I've been transatlantic on the QM2 a total of nine times. It's a fabulous ship with interesting people of many nationalities (many Brits).

They have a GLBT meeting at the bar on the top deck around 5 each afternoon. The details are posted at the purser's office and in the daily paper. Some crossings it's well attended, others not so much. I always go but it's mostly couples.

I've never found any action of any kind anywhere on the QM2. The most likely possibility would probably the G32, the night club/disco that's stays open very late.

Hey guys..

I'm currently on the MSC DIVINA in the Caribbean...this particular cruise has a good mix of ALL the "niches" that we gay men/boys fill: daddy's, boys, thinks, muscle guys, etc.

I have had more than a few conversations with gentlemen sitting at the bar just looking to talk & get some info on the cruise scene. I also ran into a previous client of mine (who hired me in Vegas), & hired me today as well..

I'll be checking the forums on & off while on this trip & would be more than happy to answer any questions.

Ace,

Damn jealous of you, lol, love to run across you on a plane trek.... peering over first class and seeing you and remembering good times in vegas at the hog ranch and more at the mgm.... the cruise guy is at fortune with you.

Louie,

You must have a really good reason for doing the transatlantic voyage NINE (!) times. Wow.

I had to privilege to be on the Queen Mary 2 only once when RSVP chartered the ship, on a transatlantic cruise from New York to Southampton. Six days with relatively cloudy and misty weather, except some sun in the beginning and the end of the trip and some pretty rough seas in between. Plenty of time to explore the magnificent ship and all indoors activities.

Weather is a problem on the North Atlantic. July, August and early Sept. are the best months when you can walk the decks and most of the time enjoy the weather in a deck chair. Sunshine is not guaranteed. The rest of the months plan to spend most of your time indoors.
