What Exactly is the "FAKE/OUTDATED PHOTO" Business Model?

Another poster has (wisely) noted separately that the vast majority of male sex worker internet

ads provide either fake or extremely outdated photos. In my own short experience this

has been proven entirely true in about 10 "tries" over four years. Only two actually looked like their

ads.

So what is that business model all about? If one meets up with the actual escort who advertised

with fake/outdated pictures, it would send the client's

most likely reaction will be: 1) huge resentment, and if possible a quick escape; 2) huge resentment,

with a negotiated shorter session; 3) huge resentment, with just a one-time meeting.

So how do most male escorts make a decent living?

I would walk away from the meeting.

“I would walk away from the meeting.”

How would you SAFELY walk away?

For “in calls” you go either to the house or facilities of an escort who places an ad.

In the above scenario, you are already at the escorts place of business. If the escort is not as advertised, what prevents the fraudulent escort from becoming violent with you if you protest that the pictures in the ad are false or are outdated?

What prevents the fraud escort from demanding money from you even if you attempt to walk away?

You would be alone with the escort and if the escort is so dishonest as to place a false ad, what assures you that the fraud escort will allow you to “walk away” in one piece or without being involved in a fight or worse?

On the other hand, if you have an escort come to your home or to a hotel to meet with you, how can you simply “walk away” when the escort is right there with you?

Do you not answer the door when the fake escort arrives?

If in a hotel, when you open the door and the escort immediately walks into your room, how do you insure your safety after telling the escort he is not the person in the photos?

Ideally, we would meet an escort in a public place prior to going to a private session with the escort. However, getting an escort to agree to terms where YOU can walk away, is usually not possible.

Unfortunately, there are those who use false ads to prey on gays. I can make this statement with certainty because I personally have been burned by escorts that were not whom or what they said they were.

Having learned my lesson, prior to hiring, I check all photos of ads that contain photos that appeal to me. All too often, the photos are “borrowed” from the internet.

Needless to say, one must exercise extreme caution when hiring an escort from any advertisement. Escorts reviewed from this site are usually safe, but not always. Nonetheless, this site is a godsend to those who like to hire escorts.

Be Careful!

I hire 4 escorts over a 4 day period during my last trip to NYC. Three of them matched the pictures and descriptions in their adds and all three had reviews on this website. The 4th guy who showed up at my hotel door was very clearly not the person in the add. I called him on it before I let him in the room... told him that he was clearly not the person in the add and I was not interested in hiring someone else. He grumbled and told me I was an asshole but then turned around and left. As it turns out, he was the one guy that was not reviewed on this site. There's sooo many tempting website adds that get me all revved up. It's such a bummer that they can't be trusted.

I don't get it either. Here is a recent example: 'mascder22' on a4a (http://www.adam4adam.com/?p=MascDer22) The pictures surely are impressive! It is also a profile that I had not seen before on a4a. I chat with him on a4a, and he says he offers incalls at the Belleclaire Hotel on Broadway/West 77. For those of you who don't know it, this is a fleabag hotel mostly frequented by personnel from airlines. Why would a 'hot', 'super model' like guy like 'mascder22' camp out at a hotel like that, holding out for a $200 fee per pop? With his type of physique, he would have NYC, LA, SF, Miami and Palm Springs at his feet!

So I ask him, are these really your pictures? Sorry to ask, there are so many fake profiles on a4a?

- Yes, they are 100% mine.

Great. I hope you don't mind if I walk away from the appointment, no compensation to you, if you are not the guy in the pictures right?

Not liking the lack of response, I do a reverse google image search on just one picture. It appears that the picture is of Derick Mickens, former football player and well known underwear fashion model (http://forums.thefashionspot.com/f127/deric-mickens-211141.html) with numerous pictures all over the internet.

So I ask him, are you Derick Mickens?

My point is: WTF?

For the record, the second link (thefashionspot) sent me to a website where I got a warning from my anti-virus. I tried logging out of it, and it froze my computer. I had to power off and reboot. A scan turned up a virus, but it was contained.

That being said, I agree WTF, but there are a lot of guys out there who are not as vigilant as you are or as cautious as the members on this forum, and unfortunately get sucked into this scam.
