Is anyone else playing this horribly frustrating game? I can't get past level 33. Has anyone else been successful in getting any of their friends to throw them a new life to keep playing? (asking for a friend)

I feel your pain, I was stuck on level 27 for months (I suck at timed levels) but don't give up, there's so much more frustration ahead! :) I'm now at level 152 and still just as hooked. If you or your friend would like to friend me for the extra lives/moves, feel free to message me with your facebook name and I will be happy to add you.

omg level 33 was horrible, start at the bottom first and hopefully you get lucky! that's what it takes.

I'm at level 55 now, kinda tough, been on it since 6pm yesterday,

i'm not paying for extra life either, although people I know put the time on their phones ahead so they can continue playing.

level 33 is becoming my nightmare. With only 14 moves allowed, I'm becoming convinced that it is, as you say more luck than strategic moves. I also, like PK, refuse to buy new lives. I did so once on level 30 (another never-ending level) thinking maybe the algorithm of the game would change in my favor the next time I played. I was wrong! lol.

This is a very addicting game, but I'm finding that my frustration with it is now outweighing the fun.

lol. thanks. Have you ever thought that the algorithm of the game changes in favor of those who continue to buy new lives? I can't help at times to think that the developer of the game is sitting somewhere in his/her coding room laughing at me in my frustration knowing I'll remain at a certain level unless I buy more lives or exhaust weeks or even months of free play before the right combination of moves becomes available to me to advance!!

Also, if you have a computer and a tablet you get a separate full set of lives on each platform.

oh really? so you get to play more under the same game/login?

(i'm at 65 now, i think it's gonna take a while)

Tutorial on how to get unlimited lives ...

[video=youtube;L65hYwzT3Xg]

Well, that's an interesting way to cheat! I don't want to cheat, I just want to advance, based on skill without having to pay for new lives and that's seemingly behind the revenue flow and algorithm of the game, unless you're willing to spend an enormous amount of time playing and using lives which are not winnable while waiting to advance.

On level 33, for example, you only have 14 moves. If I were to use the "cheat method" described above, I'd spend more time resetting my iPad clock than I would actually playing the game! lol

If you are looking for a great game, and it's just been reduced from $1.99 to $0.99 in itunes, try The Room. This game will challenge you in areas of perception, memory, logic, and it's graphics on an iPad retina display are delicious. You'll need to put it away and come back to it from time to time as it is just that challenging. It's a great way to spend an hour or so before bed. I highly recommend this install. Available also on kindle (amazon) and droid. It's available for your phone too, but I couldn't imagine using it on that size device. In January, an all new version will be launched.

So I was curious about the above cheat when I wanted to play on and tried it by setting my iPad clock ahead 12 hours. It worked! And, I also cleared 3 new levels in record time. The game became thrilling again!

But when I went to reset my clock, and played out my last life, my new time to my next life was an unbelievable 3,597 minutes and 12 seconds. Yes, 3,597 minutes and 12 seconds. So there must be some code written into the game now, so when you go back to your real time and continue playing out your lives, you get thrown into the slammer for cheating. I's do the math, minutes to hours, to days, but I don't want to get upset about it.

Needless to say.......cheaters never prosper. Thanks, Draker!;)

Since that amounts to 2 months, or the same penalty that Daddy imposes for being a wiseacre, I believe it is a penalty. Of course you could get a new screen name and start all over and get to that level fairly easily, with a few bumps and bruises along the way. If anyone is playing on facebook and friends me, I need one more key to advance past the blockade. Of course I could pay the 10 cents but I would have to give a credit card and it is not worth the risk of being hacked to advance. So thanks in advance and thanks to one of our colleagues here who already sent my an assist.

I primarily play the Candy Crush app on my Droid smartphone. I will use the clock advance cheat when I run out of lives. I also have my CC app linked to my FaceBook account. Once I am ready to reset the clock on my Droid, I will disconnect my CC app on the Droid from FB (Settings=>Log Off FB). I will then play CC on FB a few times (you have separate lives over there). I will then reconnect the CC app on the Droid back to FB and I am good.

Actually, it amounts to 60 hours (or 2½ days), not 2 months.

Yes, that's the correct calculation. So I went forward in time (3 days this time) once again but did not play the game. When I opened the app this morning, all is well once again. So instead of slammer-time, I got off with some intuitive damage control.

My goodness I was off by more than a factor of 10

That's exactly what I was hoping to hear from a guy that I hooked up with last week based on his online profile. I didn't. So I had to bring it up. ;)

I see ads for a game called "Pet Rescue Saga" from the same folks who developed Candy Crush.
