A friend of mine, porn star Mack Manus, will be visiting NYC September 18-24 with a girlf friend (just a girl friend, NOT HIS gf!) and asked me if I could recommend any bed and breakfast/apt near Union square. Maximum budget for 6 nights is $1000.

There's an iPhone app called Airbnb. I used it for a place in Kuala Lumpur and I believe it has NYC listings.

HTW... First I am jealous beyond belief that you are friends with Mack Manus... what a hot specimen... and not really being into porn I was not familiar with him... Actually the week that he plans to be in NYC is one of the tightest for hotels in the City as the UN General Assembly opens on September 17. Therefore, the normal influx of tourists is augmented by every high and low level diplomat from the entire globe...still with some perseverance it might be possible to find something approaching a reasonable rate...
