...Because I just sent rentboy a scathing email due to the fact I updated my ad yesterday, and yet today it's still saying I'm in DC when I'm in a completely different area and also paid for gold upgrade. So God only knows, people are probably looking at the ad thinking I'm in DC.

This is after I wrote them, asking why the update process takes so long. And that for a person who travels frequently, I need my ad updated before I even get into town. No other website requires you to update 'during business hours' which may be 2-3 hours difference at that. Then they want to wait all night to get to my ad. They respond saying that some accounts have 'eligibility' to have their ad updated without needing approval. Yet, I been with them for 5 years and I still need to wait forever and a day to have my ad approved? And then, I paid for a Gold ad upgrade yesterday...there's 2 other guys with Gold ads and no platinum. Everytime I click and refresh the site, I'm showing in 2nd or 3rd place but not the top listing.

So in addition to having sent the email, I'm going to give them a call tomorrow and just rip on them. Like just, go in on them big time. Because they're too slow in getting things updated, want to put certain guys on the top listing, and then not update my ad after I CLEARLY updated my ad to the new city. I just want to make sure I don't get banned, but at the same time, if we have to cut ties we'll just have to cut ties.

They close at 6pm eastern time, the site lags at times. Complaining doesnt get far.. I know the girl candy is a sweetheart and customer service doesnt deserve too get yelled at. Being kind and patient in life gets you further, it also generates positive energy and good luck.

I hope you get it resolved and the rest of your tour goes well.

I agree. Sweetly saying you'd that her help would make a big difference will and thanking her for her help will get you further than yelling. In my experience, getting pissed only works if you've been nice and were ignored as a result.

Rentboy actually has been great to me. I've acquainted with Coco (one of the CS reps) and she's very sweet and helpful. I can give you her direct email if you'd like. I have, however, had some similar problems with M4RN. There was an instance last week where they deleted six of my photos for "not showing partial face" when half the guys on that site show less or no face whatsoever. And I have a valid reason for blurring my face in my photos. Then, only two or three days later I received a star review from a client on the site and it was deleted shortly thereafter. I'm almost at my last straw with them, so I definitely feel where you're coming from.

The reactions from escorts in thread thread demonstrate why I have hired Griffin, am interested in Elliott, but will never be tempted to hire Joey. In my experience, the same guy is the first listing in Rentboy for a whole day and then the next day it is someone else. I don't understand why you are angry and taking it personally that yesterday it was one of the other two gold escorts in your city and today it is the other one. Maybe tomorrow is your day.

Even though your other issues sound like legitimate problems that can hurt your business, you will almost certainly get better help if you are polite and respectful to the customer service people. I know when I worked in customer service, I helped the nice customers more quickly and offered them better deals than the angry ones. A nice customer who is offered an additional 10% off is likely to be a customer for a long time. An angry customer takes it for granted that they are entitled to some sort of discount will likely bitch to everyone about how terrible the company is and try make it lose business. My job was to help likely future customers and not worry about those who could never be made happy.

I think this is great advice Joey. You can ask for a boss and yell at them if a calm approach doesn't work but once you've yelled you can't take that back. And during your calm and focused on problem solving discussion with customer service, maybe you can get advice on how to solve the problem long term (you mentioned some people don't have to get changes approved). I maybe be wrong, but you've been a customer for 5 years and calmly working that into the conversation probably wouldn't hurt. I can't recall any business in any industry, particularly in these still tough economic times, not being appreciative of a five year or more customer relationship.

Hope you don't mind us old guys giving you some advice and yes I know its your money and your time on this issue, not mine. People are welcome to make the same mistakes I have if they really want to but.....well you know.

I have been aqainted with owners of fortune 500 companies. What's interesting is how they handle situation's. For example, one of my ex boyfriends lost 50 million dollar's from a court battle. Not once did I see him yell or get angry, all he would say is "this is highly annoying" What's interesting he lost the court battle.. After that he was still calm, in the pass 5 years he has earned it back along with a profit. I am a firm believer in riding out the storm in order to see the brighter times. I wouldn't want a deck hand with aggresive emotions.

Your "ex" made back $50,000,000? I gotta ask:

(1) how did you nab him in the first place?

(2) how did you dissolve your relationship?

That's a lot of moola to go away. PM me, please, if necessary.

And this IS tongue in cheek / sarcasm.

Well, before I could even read the replies here, I contacted rent a boy this afternoon...despite the fact that my add STILL did not get updated even though an email stated it was approved.

That said, I was so appalled, that I just didn't even have the energy this morning to yell plus I have a sore throat and would have probably lost my voice (nationals game was Saturday) I just told him what the issues were, and I received an entire free month credit for a future gold ad. By no means was I referring to using profanity or belittling by any means. I simply wanted them to know they have a crappy review and ad placement process.

@Tom1980...if that's your choice, so be it. I met 3 forum members this past weekend in DC, and no one has submitted any bonafide bad reviews, so your telling me you rather hire so and so over me is not going to upset me. Matter of fact, if you hire Griffin, send me a video...i have some friends who may wanna watch.

But understand, many of the sites that so much help us, tend to do or not do, things to frustrate us or not do us justice. there's a difference between wait staff and phone reps, versus people who run websites and mess you up for something that really needn't be tampered with. If I make changes to an ad, it should be made immediately or at least done right. I shouldn't have to worry about it incessantly, wondering if they fixed it, or will I wake up to an ad that says "DC today" when i'm already in Tibet.

Turns out, the glitch may have been due to my expired and incomplete ads receiving the update rather than my active ad. How that could happen, boggles me. And fyi, although being at the top listing isn't that important to me, the rep I spoke with says that it's suppose to update throughout the day automatically. They didn't do that with my ad. So it was clear, the system was either malfunctioning or rigged if I wasn't rotated at the top.

Hourboy is good. Not only is it free, not only do ads update immediately...but you can write whatever, and you get placed at the top by login order. I just wish they had more exposure. unfortunately, I forgot to use rent men this go around. good site, good people. Next time.

"2-3 days for an AD to update locations?"

Oh hell to the naw! Dude you should probably lose these guys. I would not spend my money on their "Gold memberships" if I were getting that type of service.
