Guys, I met someone I'm really like. I'm enjoying the early stages but things are progressing fast relationship-wise. He's definitely eager, but since he is a fantastic match for me, I'm getting used to that. (I tend to look for flaws in guys who are really eager while giving a pass to ones who play hard to get, even if the eager ones are objectively more desirable.)

Thank you to all those who encouraged me to start doing online dating again. Without you, I would have kept putting it off, so you made a big difference

By the way, he says he was (very briefly) a major league athlete for those who are into that. ;)

Fresh, congrats are in order. I wish you every happiness...and if he deserves you, well, I guess I'll wish him every happiness too. :)

Thanks, Tyro and Gman!

He is kind of the opposite of Ideal (from last summer) in the way the relationship is progressing. Like I said, because he is so eager, I keep looking for the catch. This is a pattern for me, unfortunately.

Congrats Fresh. This has made me think about dating again as I haven't had an official date for about 8 years........not that I'm complaining. Very occasionally I think it would be nice to wake up to someone in bed in the morning. Then I quickly remember that when I do share my bed with someone......I wish they would slip out and go home. I love sleeping alone. LOL.

Gold Stars for you for putting yourself out there and taking risks and chances. Sometimes it really does pay off.

I was talking to a co-worker a few weeks ago and I said that I never saw myself with children (even when I was little) but I saw myself with a dog. They looked at me and said "you are equating children with dogs" and I said "no, I think that dogs better than children".

I think you made a great choice.

EZE, Thanks, but who knows what will happen? But he's the first real bf since the last one a year ago, since none of the guys I met online since then fit the bill. TBH, Eze, I'm much like you; I usually prefer to spend most of my time on my own, so it takes a lot to get me to enjoy spending the ight with someone. I'm trying to slow this down a bit to keep both of us from getting overloaded.

MMK, I admit that I prefer tiny, fluffy dogs over kids too. :)

My best wishes to FreshFluff!

There's another member of the Forum who's dipping toes in the online dating pool and invited me to look at their profile on match.com .... it kinda seemed to me necessary to establish a pro-forma profile before looking at the inviter's, and I was pleased and surprised that match.com has men-looking-for-men as an option. Just thought I'd mention, and sorry to steal any of FF's well deserved basking-in-attention.

I didn't mean to bask. I had forgotten about the "Does anyone date online" thread, where I should have posted this.

Oh yeah, he also loves to cook, like my last 3 bfs. I, on the other hand, am the opposite of domestic.

Honcho, I know of another member on Match also. I'm glad to hear there are several of us! In fact, I hope they post on this thread.

The only service that doesn't have M4M dating is eHarmony, which sucks anyway. I remember when I first signed up for one service, I did a search for the criteria I wanted. All the men kept turning up guy, and I was about to give up when I realized that I had accidentally clicked the M4M option!
