My first question to you would be, Why are you relying solely on the response of anonymous posters on an internet site, when it comes to protecting your health? What does unsafe mean in this scenario? Your post says he is a suck buddy, and you are the receiver, so what are you referring to? He probably just does it as a precaution. I don't know how much it actually helps but a cleaner mouth is never a bad idea. Virtually all mouthwashes on the market are anti-bacterial. I've seen recommendations that one should rinse/gargle with Listerine or a dilute solution of hydrogen peroxide after oral sex to reduce the risk of VD or other contagious diseases. That's certainly easy enough to do, unless you're doing interesting things in a toilet or porn theater booth! Even then, you could carry a little bottle of mouthwash or peroxide in a pocket or fannypack for quick hygiene!
